Bhimsen Thapa

Bhimsen Thapa (Pipalthok, Gorkha 1775 - 1839 Kathmandu) was the second Mukhtiyar (equivalent to Prime Minister) of Nepal from 1806 to 1837. He ruled under the infacy and incapacity of King Girvan Yuddha Bir Bikram Shah (1799-1816) and King Rajendra Bikram Shah (1816-1846), thus making effective ruler of Kingdom of Nepal.
