English: The Battle of Cambrai (November 20 - December 3, 1917) was a British campaign of World War I near the French city Cambrai. Noted for the first successful use of tanks, the British attack failed to achieve its more optimistic objective of breaking the German line of supply. Nonetheless, after the German counter-attack, it ended with the British line advanced into the rear of the Hindenburg line, something hitherto not achieved.
The dispositions of the British units which are shown in the maps appear to be based on German intelligence of the time. While they mostly have an element of truth in them, they should not be taken as closely accurate.
