I always sign my post : Nancy Wong aka Edmunddantes. Can you tell me why people don't think the photos I upload on wiki commons are mine? Here's another one of my Shawn Wong photos from the '70s and no one seems to have trouble with it. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shawn_Wong https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Homebase_%28novel%29 — Preceding unsigned comment was added by 204.102.74.23 (talk) 00:07, 20 September 2016 (UTC)

See [8]. --Jarekt (talk) 12:12, 28 September 2016 (UTC)

Good catch. I did not notice that. I undid 70 of them but they all might have the edit conflict. This might not require any action, but I thought I will let you know. --Jarekt (talk) 17:20, 28 September 2016 (UTC)

Click the "Signature and timestamp"-button to sign your talkpage contributions As a courtesy to other editors, it is a Commons guideline to sign your posts on talk pages, user talk pages, deletion requests, and noticeboards. To do so, simply add four tildes (Edmunddantes (talk) 22:52, 19 October 2016 (UTC)) at the end of your comments. Your user name or IP address (if you are not logged in) and the date will then automatically be added along with a timestamp when you save your comment. Signing your comments helps people to find out who said something and provides them with a link to your user/talk page (for further discussion). Thank you. --SignBot (talk) 17:51, 20 September 2016 (UTC)

(talk page stalker) @Edmunddantes: It is because you were posting comments without signing them. See your comment on File talk:Homebase.jpg for example. This is not a warning, but just a message telling you to sign all your posts on talk pages with ~~~~ (on the end of your comment). Thanks, Poké95 02:11, 20 October 2016 (UTC)

I have the following task for User:FlickreviewR 2 (Can you do this? Or redirect me to the right tool/person if you know one): go through images in a given directory (this one, for instance) and upload higher-resolution version from the flickr source found on the image page. Many photographers update their flickr images after we transfer them to Commons. Thanks in advance. Materialscientist (talk) 01:06, 1 November 2016 (UTC)

I can create a seperate script for this, but right now I have no time (probably not before January). :/ FlickreviewR 2 performs uploading on each review, so if you wish, you could use VFC to force a re-review of each file to trigger the uploads. Alternatively, maybe @: can help? --Zhuyifei1999 (talk) 02:02, 1 November 2016 (UTC)
Could you please elaborate on "use VFC to force a re-review of each file" (i.e. how exactly can I force a re-review. I can use Commons:AutoWikiBrowser to mass-remove past flickr reviews from files of a given category, and maybe this will force a re-review (?), but I guess you mean something else). Materialscientist (talk) 02:10, 1 November 2016 (UTC)
Yeah, AWB should work as well. Just replace the reviewed-pass templates with {{Flickreview}} --Zhuyifei1999 (talk) 02:30, 1 November 2016 (UTC)
Dropping in a bit late on this, to note that the flickrreview reset is probably the easiest way to force reuploads (and it's been done precisely this way before). Secondly, I'd not write a script to do this automatically without human review. I'm presuming that the mentioned category has a limited number of Flickr sources, and they are all stable. The ways this can go wrong are that the source may have changed the licence since upload, so the flickrreview with then give a fail and lead to 'accidental' deletion unless someone realises what happened, or that the user has overwritten the original image with a different one, or a worse quality version, or even a rotated version which can cause a check failure. Anyway, scenarios to think about :-). Thanks -- (talk) 08:16, 3 November 2016 (UTC)

Included source/Flickr web address of photo

Hi thanks for the review. Wanted to let you know that I have added the source (website address) of the image that I downloaded from Flickr into Wikimedia. Please kindly take a look and see if it's ok. Apologies I am rather new at uploading photos! Thanks :) Superwifi (talk) 16:06, 4 November 2016 (UTC)

@Superwifi: Do you have a link (address) to the source of File:Lim TY Special Olympics International.jpg? We are trying make stuffs such as finding original source as easy as possible for our users. Thanks --Zhuyifei1999 (talk) 16:13, 4 November 2016 (UTC)

Hi here you go: I got the photo from flickr at this web address: https://www.flickr.com/photos/soi-photo-stream/5877254852/in/photolist-9Xmt7d-k7rcNA-rBdvVt-k7rddo-pDrrBf-pyBRL3-k7oK8B-entrqF-k7rhQE-eo47L9-k7oJu2-k7pmJz-eo45es-k7oXqn-k7rxkw-k7oCXv-k7rnLm-k7oEVi-k7rqZq-k7rAtA-k7pqfn-k7p49g-k7p1rT-k7pmte-pSjXb4-5MhusS-oZ3dEF-k7oFpp-k7pugZ-k7pArp-k7riWN-k7oTPK-k7rdEL-pTEWqd-bkR3uw-d3DjCq-k7pkwp-rjSfXX-k7riwQ-k7oJR4-qY1aN1-k7p2tn-k7puBD-k7reDQ-k7pHHP-k7p1ir-k7rmjo-k7pqqn-k7oPkV-atzMdM

Thanks! Superwifi (talk) 16:47, 4 November 2016 (UTC)

@Superwifi: Unfortunately the file seems all rights reserved, meaning users cannot reuse it without explicit permission. We might have to delete it soon if it stays like that. Please see Commons:Licensing and Commons:Flickr. Sorry about this. --Zhuyifei1999 (talk) 16:57, 4 November 2016 (UTC)

Opps...I didn't realize that but now I do. Then I will remove the picture from the wiki article. Pls go ahead to delete it on wikimedia. Thanks for letting me know, and thank you for your contributions so far.Superwifi (talk) 17:11, 4 November 2016 (UTC)

Hi Zhuyifei1999, something seems to be out of order. There has been no automatic Flickr review since yesterday. There is a huge queue now in the Category:Flickr review needed. You should fix your creation ASAP. Thank you! Regards, --Edelseider (talk) 12:50, 8 November 2016 (UTC)

In any case, I've changed passwords for most of my bots. Hopefully this won't happen again. (I also happened to be spontaneously getting logged out while logging back in with this account. Not sure why or if that's the actual cause.) --Zhuyifei1999 (talk) 13:51, 8 November 2016 (UTC)
Thanks for having restarted it. For the record, the interruption was from 7 November 2016, 07:57 until 8 November 2016, 13:11. When I wrote the above message, there were over 6,330 files in the queue. Lucky that it didn't last a week! Have a nice day or evening, --Edelseider (talk) 16:30, 8 November 2016 (UTC)
