Image deletion warning | Image:Gotland-Bunge_Museum_Hof_19.Jhdt._04.jpg have been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether they should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at their entry. If you created these images, please note that the fact that they have been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with them, such as a copyright issue. If the files are up for deletion because they have been superseded by a superior derivative of your work, consider the notion that although the files may be deleted, your hard work (which we all greatly appreciate) lives on in the new files. |

Thx. A request
Dear Xenophon, thank you for your excellent work of sorting the religious subjects by media. I would like to ask you, though, if you could, since you are at it, to begin a little sub-sorting for at least the most crowded categories. For instance, not only "Statues of Annunciation", but also "Statues of Annunciation in France" or "in GErmany/Italy": this will spare us from redoing the whole work anew again in short. Thank you in advance. --User:G.dallorto 16:34, 20 December 2007 (UTC)
Category:Statues of Madonna and Child in X
You categorized Image:Virgin and Child from Diest.jpg under Category:Statues of Madonna and Child in Belgium, and Image:Enthroned Virgin and Child Scandinavia 1100s.jpg under Category:Statues of Madonna and Child in Sweden. Both of those statues, however, are in New York, in the Metropolitan Museum of Art. If you want to categorize them by where they are from, then please apply a different category. Otherwise, saying they are in Belgium or Sweden is clearly inaccurate, especially since the parent categories for those are Category:Statues in Belgium and Category:Statues in Sweden. Thank you
Thank you for the fine and painstaking work of subcategorising you are doing. I appreciate your help. I see from the post above that you have still to catch all subtilities of the byzantine and sometimes ennerving categorization over here, but you are learning very fast indeed. If I am allowed a request, I would only like to ask you, when you create a double category (such as "Apses in Venice", for instance, which deals boths with apses and with Venice) to remember to categorize it in both mother categories, i.e. "Category:Apses in Italy" (which you did) and "Category:Churches in Venice" or, even better "Category:Architectural elements in Venice". Thank you and keep with your work: you are doing great! --User:G.dallorto 15:56, 27 December 2007 (UTC)

Image Tagging Image:Nürnberg_-_Plärrer.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Nürnberg_-_Plärrer.jpg. I notice the image page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the media on Wikimedia Commons (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page. If the content is a derivative of a copyrighted work, you need to supply the names and a licence of the original authors as well.
If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag, then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then you can use {{self|GFDL|cc-by-sa-all}} to release it under the multilicense GFDL plus Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike All-version license or {{PD-self}} to release it into the public domain. See Commons:Copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have uploaded other media, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find all your uploads using the Gallery tool. Thank you. Wikimedia Commons has a specific scope
Thank you for your contributions. Your image or other content was recently deleted, or will soon be deleted, in accordance with our process and policies, because it was not, or is not, within our scope. Please review our project scope, but in short, Commons is targeted at media files including photographs, diagrams, animations, music, spoken text and video clips. Wikimedia Commons does not contain text articles like encyclopedia articles, textbooks, news, word definitions and such. Each of these other kinds of content have their own projects: Wikipedia, Wikibooks, Wikisource, Wikinews, Wiktionary and Wikiquote.
If the content seems to fit the scope of one of those other projects, please consider contributing it there. If you think that the deletion was in error because the contribution really was in scope, you can appeal it at Commons:Undeletion requests, giving a reason why it fits our scope to help others evaluate the matter. Thank you for your understanding. __ ABF __ ϑ 13:42, 23 January 2008 (UTC)

There seems to be a problem regarding the description and/or licensing of this particular file. It has been found that you've added in the image's description only a Template that's not a license and although it provides useful informations about the image, it's not a valid license. Could you please resolve this problem, adding the license in the image linked above? You can edit the description page and change the text. Uploading a new version of the file does not change the description of the file. This page may give you more hints on which license to choose. Thank you.

Hallo!
Xenophon 12.30, 29 June 2008
