Hidden Lakes Peak

Your photographs make me want to hike up to the lookout: I've never been there. Are the views even better than Sahale Arm? — hike395 (talk) 10:10, 10 May 2014 (UTC)

I've never been high on Sahale Arm. The views from Hidden Lake Peaks are different than Sahale Arm, but not necessarily better. I've always been fond of the view of the hanging glaciers on the north face of Johannesberg Mountain. A splendid feature of Hidden Lake Peaks is that the summits and glaciers of both the Ptarmigan Traverse and the Illabot Traverse are distributed along the horizon. From Sahale Arm, the Ptarmigan Traverse summits are coaligned. North Hidden Lakes Peak is a bit higher than the lookout and not as popular.[1] There isn't a trail, but travel is straightforward on low angle snowfields and rock and routefinding is easy. I've long admired your work on en:Ecology of the North Cascades and other articles, and not merely because you used my images to illustrate them. Best wishes, Walter Siegmund (talk) 18:59, 10 May 2014 (UTC)
Thank you for the advice and kind words. — hike395 (talk) 05:31, 13 May 2014 (UTC)
