Hello,

We are an alumni of a Chinese high school in France. Our school lets us to write a wiki page in French to present the school.

So we just want to add its logo to our wiki page. What information and copyright category should we assign to this logo? Which procedure should we follow?

@Hedwig in Washington: That I don't disagree for now. But could you restore the legal cases with court rulings I have added?

Also, if you read the whole Article 22 (not just clause 10), you'll soon realize that this Article is really about "fair use". The important part to consider here is the condition that "the other rights enjoyed by the copyright owner by virtue of this Law are not infringed upon". It is important to know from the court rulings that commercial reuse of photos of 3D work is OK, however, commercial reuse of 2D work is very likely to infringed upon the copyright owner's other rights, thus in violation of the copyright law. --Wcam (talk) 00:49, 4 May 2017 (UTC)

Sorry for deleting the court rules. I re-read Article 22 and yes, it basically is fair use. But (10) is not. And since 3D isn't mentioned, 2D is also covered in my opinion. The copyright holder of these photos published the work on Flickr and thus I uploaded them to WIKI under CC-BY-2.0 License. I don't understand why there is a deletion request. The copyright holder has other social media accounts and posted the work. But the copyright holder has agreed for the use of the photos listed above on Wiki. Therefore they posted these 8 photos on Flickr to allow the use of these photos on Wiki. --Venk kkkkk (talk)

These images were published somewhere else on the Internet in advance. The copyright holder will have to contact COM:OTRS and submit a free license.

Code issues in User:Wcam/common.js

Hi Wcam, I am a bored bot (this is kind of a computer program) that is watching the recent changes and tapping buttons like I did now.

Curious about the reason? Possibly not but I will tell you anyway:

1. You edited User:Wcam/common.js. Glad to see you coding in javascript! Have you ever considered becoming a MediaWiki hacker?
2. Though, that change appears to introduce 1 new jshint issue — the page's status is now having warnings. Note that invalid or ambiguous code often has unwanted side effects like breaking other tools for you. If you cannot find out how to fix it, I suggest blanking the page for now.
3. To help you understanding where the issues are, I have aggregated a report here and now. If you have questions, don't hesitate to ask users experienced in javascript writing for help. But do not ask the bot's operators (chronically overwrought) unless you suspect an error of mine. If you prefer not getting spammed by me, you can opt-out reports by adding {{ValidationOptOut|type=all}} to your user page or cmb-opt-out anywhere on your your global user page on Meta. Hi Like to the english version, could you remove the phrase "À noter que VOA republie des rapports d'Associated Press, de l'Agence France-Presse et d'autres. Ces contenus ne sont pas dans le domaine public. Vérifiez le crédit pour chaque image ou photographie. Notez également que VOA était un organisme fédéral jusqu'en 1998 et est devenu indépendant. Entre 1998 et juin 2013, VOA a versé tout son matériel dans le domaine public. Après cette date, l'usage est seulement non commercial. Par conséquent, ce modèle n'est valide uniquement pour le matériel publié avant juin 2013. Voir Commons:Deletion requests/Template:PD-USGov-VOA. The french phrase is the equivalent of "Note also that VOA was a Federal agency until 1998 and then became independent. Between 1998 and June 2013, the VOA put all its material in the public domain. After that, it became Non-Commercial use only. Therefore, this template is valid only for material published before June 2013. See Commons:Deletion requests/Template:PD-USGov-VOA. Note also that there are conflicting statements on several of the language web sites, but that the Terms of Use on the parent site, www.voanews.com, very clearly state that the NC policy extends to all of the VOA sites.".
