Uploads
[edit]Thanks for uploading images of these important historic sites. Do you have the ability to upload versions without false colors? Those versions would probably be more suited for inclusion in Wikipedia.--GrapedApe (talk) 12:14, 27 September 2012 (UTC)
- Added a fourth and a fifth. They are unsuitable for use in the encyclopedia, but good luck with your art. Thundersnow (talk) 08:21, 28 September 2012 (UTC)
- I hated to do this, but we had to remove these false color images from Wikipedia articles. A decision was made (at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject National Register of Historic Places#RfC: Is Photo in History section relevant [1]) that these images were unencyclopedic. We appreciate your contribution, but we would encourage you to upload images without false colors in the future. --GrapedApe (talk) 12:09, 2 October 2012 (UTC)
Please stop
[edit]Please stop using graphics tools on images you are uploading. They are not usable for the articles of the historic places you are taking pictures of. Unedited images with natural colors and without the fake frames, flames, darkness and smudging would be useful and very much appreciated. Thundersnow (talk) 06:53, 8 October 2012 (UTC)
Thank you for participating in Wiki Loves Monuments 2012!Dear Wanderlustering, Thanks to the participation of people like you, the contest gathered more than 350,000 pictures of cultural heritage objects from 36 countries around the world, becoming the largest photography competition to have ever taken place. You can find all your pictures in your upload log, and are of course very welcome to keep uploading images and help develop Wikimedia Commons, even though you will not be able to win more prizes (just yet). If you'd like to start editing relevant Wikipedia articles and share your knowledge with other people, please go to the Wikipedia Welcome page for more information, guidance, and help. To make future contests even more successful than this year, we would like to invite you to share your experiences with us in a short survey. Please fill in this short survey in your own language, and help us learn what you liked and didn't like about Wiki Loves Monuments 2012. Kind regards, |
