Hello, Vodnokon4e!
Tip: Add categories to your files
Tip: Add categories to your files

Thanks a lot for contributing to the Wikimedia Commons! Here's a tip to make your uploads more useful: Why not add some categories to describe them? This will help more people to find and use them.

Here's how:

1) If you're using the UploadWizard, you can add categories to each file when you describe it. Just click "more options" for the file and add the categories which make sense:

2) You can also pick the file from your list of uploads, edit the file description page, and manually add the category code at the end of the page.

For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbits of comets, you add the following code:

This will make the diagram show up in the categories "Astronomical diagrams" and "Comets".

When picking categories, try to choose a specific category ("Astronomical diagrams") over a generic one ("Illustrations").

Thanks again for your uploads! More information about categorization can be found in Commons:Categories, and don't hesitate to leave a note on the help desk.

Empty categories

[edit]

Hi Vodnokon4e, why did you create lots of empty categories at Category:Protected localities in Bulgaria? Will they get filled soon? If not they will be deleted I think. --Achim (talk) 16:22, 14 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, we have a lot of images from Wiki loves Earth and we are expecting much more. We will categorize them and the empty categories will be deleted. I am trying to create categories for the existing pictures.--Vodnokon4e (talk) 16:39, 14 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks a lot and good luck! --Achim (talk) 16:43, 14 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Autopatrol given

[edit]

Hello. I just wanted to let you know that I have granted autopatrol rights to your account; the reason for this is that I believe you are sufficiently trustworthy and experienced to have your contributions automatically marked as "reviewed". This has no effect on your editing, it is simply intended to make it easier for users that are monitoring Recent changes or Recent uploads to find unproductive edits amidst the productive ones like yours. In addition, the Flickr upload feature and an increased number of batch-uploads in UploadWizard, uploading of freely licensed MP3 files, overwriting files uploaded by others and an increased limit for page renames per minute are now available to you. Thank you. Thibaut120094 (talk) 17:07, 14 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

File:Testpicture2.jpg has been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether it should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry.

If you created this file, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it, such as a copyright issue. Please see Commons:But it's my own work! for a guide on how to address these issues.

Please remember to respond to and – if appropriate – contradict the arguments supporting deletion. Arguments which focus on the nominator will not affect the result of the nomination. Thank you!

WLM Bulgaria

[edit]

Hello, thank you for updating the ids of my Bulgaria WLM images. On the other side I didn't understand your edits in the images of the Basarbovo churches (e.g. here). I have a question regarding those pictures, just after I uploaded the images I asked about an ID for those pictures, but nobody replied. Can you help me with that? Best, Poco2 06:19, 16 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, @Poco a poco: . First of all, thanks a lot for your pictures. They are very nice. About your question: I wanted to put the right ID to the pictures (Heritage site number xxx) and I was surprised to understand that Basarbovo is not among the cultural sites in Bulgaria and has no ID. That's why I removed the template. If I find it (if it is not in the list by mistake) - I will put it. But otherwise I removed the template as it is empty now. Sorry for the late answer. --Vodnokon4e (talk) 10:00, 16 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, understood, but if you look at the edit I added above, you'll see tha you did not remove the template, but the Spanish description, that confused me. Best, Poco2 10:23, 16 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, I am very sorry. I was sleepy yesterday and I made a mistake. @Poco a poco: I will put it back.--Vodnokon4e (talk) 10:26, 16 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, no worry, I know that... :) Poco2 10:29, 16 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Blocked

[edit]

Hi, your bot account has been blocked for 1 week for doing careless file transfers after warning. Please be aware that you are not allowed to edit from any account until this block expires. Jcb (talk) 15:03, 4 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Email

[edit]

Hi, I read your email and I think you are totally missing the point. Your transfers were bad. If your bot has a bot flag, the transfers are still as bad. You transferred files with description, without categories and without source and authorship information, so that the copyright situation cannot be determined. I asked you to do proper after care, but you continued to transfer files without any vital information. Then I gave you a clear warning, but you continued anyway. If vital information of a file is missing at AZ Wiki, you cannot transfer such a file to Commons. Jcb (talk) 19:53, 4 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Renaming dutch files from archive

[edit]

Hi, thanks for trying to make some dutch filename's look better, but you only change a character like " , " and I know dutch very well and sometimes words are missing. For a 'komma ( , )' only, a request can be declined. Maybe you can ask a check first (at my talk page?) before you do a rename request? Please let me know how you think about that. Thanks. - Richardkiwi (talk) (talk) 12:22, 2 February 2020 (UTC) PS Look at this difference: here[reply]

@Richardkiwi: thanks for your help. Actually it is not especially to Dutch files, but to all files used in Bulgarian wiki. I am running a bot, correcting some common grammar errors. There are not so many files with errors, but sometimes my bot stop because it encounter an error in files and I gave him command not to do anything, but to wait. I know I can easily avoid files, but I would prefer just to correct these 10-15 files - if possible. If you prefer - I can make a short list first for you to take a look and tell me is it OK to correct them. Regards,--Vodnokon4e (talk) 13:20, 2 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Do you want me to mark them for renaming? Or you can check them by this list? Of course, you can decline to rename some or most of them - if you find it inappropriate. Regards,--Vodnokon4e (talk) 15:24, 2 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, i'm busy now with it :-) I try to do most of the requests. - Richardkiwi (talk) (talk) 17:31, 2 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]
✓ Done - 90% I think. Files that had too many pages around the world I did not do for only a space, but most of them are done. Some dutch files had missing names as I predicted, so that's correct now. / I filled in one category because there wasn't one, but I'm not absolutely sure if it's the right one. Don't remember which one it was.. Nice to do, but takes much more time than renaming from the request page. It was a pleasure :-) lol. Succes and have a nice evening / day! - Richardkiwi (talk) (talk) 19:20, 2 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for uploading File:Logo bezwebs RGB 0-133-48 200px.jpg. This media is missing permission information. A source is given, but there is no proof that the author or copyright holder agreed to license the file under the given license. Please provide a link to an appropriate webpage with license information, or ask the author or copyright holder to send an email with copy of a written permission to VRT (permissions-commons@wikimedia.org). You may still be required to go through this procedure even if you are the author yourself; please see Commons:But it's my own work! for more details. After you emailed permission, you may replace the No permission since tag with on file description page. Alternatively, you may click on "Challenge speedy deletion" below the tag if you wish to provide an argument why evidence of permission is not necessary in this case.

Please see this page for more information on how to confirm permission, or if you would like to understand why we ask for permission when uploading work that is not your own, or work which has been previously published (regardless of whether it is your own).

The file probably has been deleted. If you sent a permission, try to send it again after 14 days. Do not re-upload. When the VRT-member processes your mail, the file can be undeleted. Additionally you can request undeletion here, providing a link to the File-page on Commons where it was uploaded (:File:Logo bezwebs RGB 0-133-48 200px.jpg) and the above demanded information in your request.
