Order itself is not a subject of copyright, but I think, that its photograph might be an individual work and be copyrighted... Pibwl 12:56, 16 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- No, making photo or reproduction of state-of-art or another copyright subject is not creating new copyright. Can't find a link right now, but there was a case about photos of some public domain pictutes in USA. Digging... Vlsergey 13:07, 16 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

- Yes, but a medal is 3-dimensional, and, for example, the British courts don't agree with this verdict. I agree, that this is probably a simple scan of medal, with no originality, but I'll revert licence to cc-by-sa. If you want, you may write about your point of view, that this is public domain, on the image page. The reason is, that the author agreed to me to publish his work on such licence, and I don't want to break a promise. Besides, there is no problem, because it is free licence. And one more thing: does the new Russian copyright law apply for old Soviet medals? Pibwl 17:31, 16 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- To consider medal as 3D-object... that's funny :) "does the new Russian copyright law apply for old Soviet medals" - yes, it applied to old soviet medals, as explained in license template. Anyway, i'll change license back, to not break your promise Vlsergey 06:26, 17 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
