File tagging File:Thinking Cartoon Businessman.svg
[edit]This media may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading File:Thinking Cartoon Businessman.svg. This media is missing permission information. A source is given, but there is no proof that the author or copyright holder agreed to license the file under the given license. Please provide a link to an appropriate webpage with license information, or ask the author or copyright holder to send an email with copy of a written permission to VRT (permissions-commons@wikimedia.org). You may still be required to go through this procedure even if you are the author yourself; please see Commons:But it's my own work! for more details. After you emailed permission, you may replace the {{No permission since}} tag with {{subst:PP}} on file description page. Alternatively, you may click on "Challenge speedy deletion" below the tag if you wish to provide an argument why evidence of permission is not necessary in this case.
Please see this page for more information on how to confirm permission, or if you would like to understand why we ask for permission when uploading work that is not your own, or work which has been previously published (regardless of whether it is your own). Warning: unless the permission information is given, the file may be deleted after seven days. Thank you. |

- Thanks for getting the OTRS done so promptly. That really helps. — billinghurst sDrewth 07:17, 29 January 2018 (UTC)
- As a note, I checked with the person who receipted your OTRS, and your permission was specific to the file. If you are going to be providing multiple files, or continuing to add to your collection here, then it may be worthwhile modifying the OTRS. I believe that the person will be contacting you to discuss. — billinghurst sDrewth 00:44, 30 January 2018 (UTC)
Categorization
[edit]Hi Vectortoons, thanks for your upload. However, you put your uploads in too many categories. Please, try to avoid over-categorization. --Túrelio (talk) 08:07, 29 January 2018 (UTC)
Hi. I've put your images from Category:Clip art into Category:Clip art by Vectortoons. "Clip art" is a very broad category, which doesn't tell you much about the images it contains. It might be a good idea to create even more categories, which group together images with common themes. That would make it easier for people to find the most suitable image out of the hundreds of images that you uploaded. I can see why you decided to put all of them into a single category: Túrelio's statement "you put your uploads in too many categories" was an inaccurate summary of what over-categorization is, and trying to follow all of the guidelines, policies and conventions can be both intimidating and time-consuming. I'm not a long-term Commons veteran myself, but I'm sure we can figure this out. :) TilmannR (talk) 18:01, 6 November 2018 (UTC)
