Our first steps tour and our frequently asked questions will help you a lot after registration. They explain how to customize the interface (for example the language), how to upload files and our basic licensing policy (Wikimedia Commons only accepts free content). You don't need technical skills in order to contribute here. Be bold when contributing and assume good faith when interacting with others. This is a wiki. More information is available at the community portal. You may ask questions at the help desk, village pump or on IRC channel #wikimedia-commons (webchat). You can also contact an administrator on their talk page. If you have a specific copyright question, ask at the copyright village pump. |

Poorly sourced images
[edit]Hello, I noticed that you have uploaded several images which you have sourced as your own work. I have trouble believing many of these were created by you, considering some of them are more than 100 years old. It is possible that some of these works are in the public domain, however this cannot be verified without a source. If you obtained these images from the web, please add a source so that it can be determined whether they are allowed on wikimedia commons. Auguel (talk) 04:55, 26 October 2021 (UTC)

Pay attention to licensing
|
Wikimedia Commons only accepts free content: images and other media files that can be used by anyone, for any purpose.
File:ADG Stewart 1955.jpg seems to be free (or it would be proposed for deletion), but it was identified as having a wrong license. Usually, it is because a public domain image is tagged with a free license, or because the stated source or other information is not sufficient to prove the selected tag is correct. Please verify that you applied the correct license tag for this file. If you believe this file has the correct license, please explain why on the file discussion page.
