Dear Mr. Tsaitgaist:

Greetings! I am working as a copyright researcher for an educational publishing company in the Philippines. We would like to reprint and distribute the illustration of male reproductive system posted on this webpage: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Male_anatomy_en.svg. In light of this, may we request your permission to publish the image in printed copies of this textbook.

For further inquiry about our textbook, you may email me at: bookdev_researcher@yahoo.com.

Thank you very much!

Vectorization of another image

[edit]

Hi Tsaitgaist,

I'm working on a public health program and came across your excellent vectorization of the male anatomy: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/d/d1/Male_anatomy_en.svg/2000px-Male_anatomy_en.svg.png

I wonder if you've done one of the female anatomy: http://www.luckymojo.com/faqs/altsex/femlintrnl.gif

It would be awesome to have matching images to show folks. Thanks!

Yes, I also already did the vectorization for the female part. I just found out the english version has been deleted, but there are still the numbered and unnumbered versions. And if you use inkscape, you will still find the english version as layer within these files. Tsaitgaist (talk) 23:18, 7 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Picture

Tsaitgaist, thank you for your anatomical illustrations. Could you please modify this one? [2] There should be a distinct color difference between the inside of the uterus and the bladder. The red color in the urinary bladder looks like the bladder is filled with blood from severe cystitis. There should also be a slightly different color in the colon, not so reddish. The Scene gland is located close to the bulb of vestibule and closer to the urethra. [3] Sciencia58 (talk) 07:31, 16 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

before I can do any modification, the copyright aspect needs to be clarified. In 2010, I did a vector graphic of this work, which can be considered as derivative work. In 2015, both have been deleted. I don't know why, but a number of variations (including this one) have not been deleted, although they are marked as derivative work from the one removed. The removal was because the original underlying picture was "probably copyrighted". On the other hand, this picture is also found here, which according to this talk might be under CC and could be placed under GDFL. I contacted a possible copyright holder to confirm the last statement.
what are the reasons/motivations behind the changes you requested? I used colors similar to the ones in the underlying original picture. Is "There should be a distinct color difference" more a "could", to improve the readability? Or is the current color really not matching the actual color of this organ? (Note: I am not working in the medical field).
Note: the modification would need to also be propagated to all other versions of this image.
