Hielo-azul.svg edit notification

[edit]

Hi, thank you for your feedback, you have contacted me to alter File:Hielo-azul.svg because the preview image was too dark compared to File:Hielo.png. I have edited the file and I think it is lighter now, I have also added color-interpolation to the filter section of this file, so what you see should be what Wiki's preview image will look like.

If you still want to modify the lightness more to your liking, than I suggest that you look for the following line of code, inside the file, opened up in a text-editor, and alter its k1-4 attributes up and down slightly until it's to your liking.

<feComposite in="r1" in2="r3" operator="arithmetic" k1="1" k2=".3" k3=".6" k4="-.1" result="r4"/>

Or, contact me again. Regards --Wgabrie (talk) 14:16, 31 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

OK, thanks for the amendment. I'll have another look at this. --Trevj (talk) 11:58, 7 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Firstly I'd like to apologise for not getting back to you sooner on this one; I completely manage to miss your post. Looking at the issue now, I can't recreate the problem you were having, can you? Or does it seem to have resolved itself in the mean time? Regards, Jarry1250 (talk) 22:11, 31 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the message - no problem about the delay. I'll have a look at this again and see if it's still applicable. Cheers. -- Trevj (talk) 13:10, 2 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Autopatrol given

[edit]

Hello. I just wanted to let you know that I have granted autopatrol rights to your account; the reason for this is that I believe you are sufficiently trustworthy and experienced to have your contributions automatically marked as "reviewed". This has no effect on your editing, it is simply intended to make it easier for users that are monitoring Recent changes or Recent uploads to find unproductive edits amidst the productive ones like yours. In addition, the Flickr upload feature and an increased number of batch-uploads in UploadWizard, uploading of freely licensed MP3 files, overwriting files uploaded by others and an increased limit for page renames per minute are now available to you. Thank you. Cheers --Saibo (Δ) 02:09, 6 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

There seems to be a problem regarding the description and/or licensing of this particular file. It has been found that you've added in the image's description only a Template that's not a license and although it provides useful information about the image, it's not a valid license. Could you please resolve this problem, adding the license in the image linked above? You can edit the description page and change the text. Uploading a new version of the file does not change the description of the file. This page may give you more hints on which license to choose. Thank you.

This message was added automatically by Nikbot, if you need some help about it please read the text above again and follow the links in it, if you still need help ask at the ? Commons:Help desk in any language you like to use. --Nikbot 12:54, 12 March 2012 (UTC)

File:Vorsprung durch Graffit - geograph.org.uk - 1670605.jpg has been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether it should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry.

If you created this file, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it, such as a copyright issue. Please see Commons:But it's my own work! for a guide on how to address these issues.

Please remember to respond to and – if appropriate – contradict the arguments supporting deletion. Arguments which focus on the nominator will not affect the result of the nomination. Thank you!

Reuse authorizations

[edit]

Thanks for warning me about the reuse authorization of

May I say that it is a little surprising to have a 7 days time to prove authorization for files which have been submitted 5 years ago? I understand you are not making the rules here, but well, seems incoherent all the same.

Here is the e-mail exchange with Fang Chung Graham, the photographer. If it is not enough, would you mind sending her an e-mail explaining what she has to do?

Email exchange
:Dear Mrs Graham,
I'm a french contributor to the french encyclopedia Wikipedia ( http://wikipedia.org/ )
We would be happy to include some photographies of Ronald Graham on its article page http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ronald_Graham and on its translated versions in other languages.
I've found, using Google, some interesting pictures on two pages hosted on your website.
http://math.ucsd.edu/~fan/ron/jug.html
http://www.math.ucsd.edu/~fan/photo/ep.html
Could you possibly give us the permission to put some of them on Wikipedia, under a free license ? ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Free_license#Free_content_licenses )
Thank you in advance for your answer,
Best regards,
xxx
Dear xxx,
Sure, you are welcome using these photos.
Fan
Thank you very much.
They will be published on Wikimedia Commons under a copyleft license, unless you prefer another license.

Regards, --Pethrus (talk) 09:54, 29 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi and thanks for the message - sorry if the tagging was an impersonal way of doing this. Don't worry about the timescale, as I'm sure files can be undeleted if the permissions arrive later. Anyway, I've emailed as suggested, but note that Mrs Graham's website warns about spam filters. -- Trevj (talk) 13:36, 29 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Anti-spam was not an issue 5 years ago at this same address, let's hope it won't be this time either. Thanks for emailing. --Pethrus (talk) 15:03, 29 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
The email address used is at laposte.net, which has caused some problems for me in the past. If we've heard nothing in a few days, perhaps you could drop Mrs Graham a note asking to check the spam folder for that domain. Cordialement. -- Trevj (talk) 15:11, 29 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Is'nt Fan Chung email adress at math.ucsd.edu ? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Pethrus (talk • contribs) 09:51, 30 March 2012‎ (UTC)[reply]
I used fan at ucsd.edu. I meant the laposte address is for incoming mail from me! Sorry for the ambiguity. -- Trevj (talk) 10:07, 30 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, allright. Should you have no answer in a couple days, I will send her another mail. --Pethrus (talk) 11:28, 30 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi again. The date has now expired and so these have been deleted. They could be reinstated via Undeletion requests if the permission is received. If you could please check whether my email was received that'd be helpful. Thanks very much. -- Trevj (talk) 07:56, 12 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Sure. Could you send me the e-mail you sent her? Thanks. --Pethrus (talk) 13:38, 12 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hello

In connection with the conversation linked below, I understand that you've previously authorised reuse of three photos by Wikimedia:http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/User_talk:Trevj#Reuse_authorizations

Unfortunately, the full licensing conditions have not been demonstrably met. Therefore, it would be greatly appreciated if you could please forward permissions again to permissions-commons@wikimedia.org (template message from http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Commons:Email_templates/Consent follows below).

If there are any problems with this, please let me know by email or on my talk page there. (Please note that even though the files may be deleted after 7 days, if your permission follows *after* that date, it's my understanding that the files could be undeleted.)

Thanks for reading and in anticipation of your cooperation.

Kind regards

Trevor Johnson

Pay attention to copyright
File:Venice floating city satellite view 2008.jpg has been marked as a possible copyright violation. Wikimedia Commons only accepts free content—that is, images and other media files that can be used by anyone, for any purpose. Traditional copyright law does not grant these freedoms, and unless noted otherwise, everything you find on the web is copyrighted and not permitted here. For details on what is acceptable, please read Commons:Licensing. You may also find Commons:Copyright rules useful, or you can ask questions about Commons policies at the Commons:Help desk. If you are the copyright holder and the creator of the file, please read Commons:But it's my own work! for tips on how to provide evidence of that.

The file you added has been deleted. If you have written permission from the copyright holder, please have them send us a free license release via COM:VRT. If you believe that the deletion was not in accordance with policy, you may request undeletion. (It is not necessary to request undeletion if using VRT; the file will be automatically restored at the conclusion of the process.)

Warning: Wikimedia Commons takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

Category discussion warning

Category:Civil_engineering_of_Great_Britain has been listed at Commons:Categories for discussion so that the community can discuss ways in which it should be changed. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry.

If you created this category, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for discussion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it. If the category is up for deletion because it has been superseded, consider the notion that although the category may be deleted, your hard work (which we all greatly appreciate) lives on in the new category.

In all cases, please do not take the category discussion personally. It is never intended as such. Thank you!
