A source is given, but there is no proof that the author or copyright holder agreed to license the file under the given license. Please provide a link to an appropriate webpage with license information, or send an email with copy of a written permission to OTRS (permissions-commons@wikimedia.org).

Here is the email exchange between the author of the photograph and me. If you would request screenshots rather than text as proof of the correspondence, please let me know. If you think his statement is not sufficient, I will contact him again for clarification.

Me: To whom it may concern:

While searching for an image of Delta Goodrem, I found this photo you took of her at a concert (URL: farm2.static.flickr.com/1220/1122609640_a92e9dc995_o.jpg ) I was immediately impressed. The superb lighting and contrast really make this far better than the other Delta Goodrem photos on flickr. Consequently, I thought it might be appropriate for inclusion in the Wikipedia article concerning Delta Goodrem. I am specifically seeking your permission to use this image.

If you allow this image to be used, it will replace the current one contained in the article (Here is a link).

Please respect my request to keep discussions where they started, as this makes conversations easier to follow. I am watching this page, so I will see responses made here.

"Feel free to use the image" would be {{Permission}}. You will need to get the copyright holder to explicitly authorise a free license, just as your request stated. I have contacted him and am awaiting a response.

He has just responded and has specifically authorized its use under the GFDL. He states:

"I hereby assert that I am the creator and/or sole owner of the exclusive copyright of farm2.static.flickr.com/1220/1122609640_a92e9dc995_o.jpg.

I agree to publish that work under the free license GNU Free Documentation License.

I acknowledge that I grant anyone the right to use the work in a commercial product, and to modify it according to their needs.

I am aware that I always retain copyright of my work, and retain the right to be attributed in accordance with the license chosen.

Modifications others make to the work will not be attributed to me. I am aware that the free license only concerns copyright, and I reserve the option to take action against anyone who uses this work in a libelous way, or in violation of personality rights, trademark restrictions, etc.

I acknowledge that I cannot withdraw this agreement, and that the image may or may not be kept permanently on a Wikimedia project.

I haven't recieved a confirmation from OTRS yet, and if I don't by today, this picture may be deleted. Is there any way I can request an extension on the deletion time for this image? TheKillerAngel 17:50, 27 October 2007 (UTC)

Your account will be renamed

Hello,

The developer team at Wikimedia is making some changes to how accounts work, as part of our on-going efforts to provide new and better tools for our users like cross-wiki notifications. These changes will mean you have the same account name everywhere. This will let us give you new features that will help you edit and discuss better, and allow more flexible user permissions for tools. One of the side-effects of this is that user accounts will now have to be unique across all 900 Wikimedia wikis. See the announcement for more information.

Unfortunately, your account clashes with another account also called TheKillerAngel. To make sure that both of you can use all Wikimedia projects in future, we have reserved the name TheKillerAngel~commonswiki that only you will have. If you like it, you don't have to do anything. If you do not like it, you can pick out a different name.

Your account will still work as before, and you will be credited for all your edits made so far, but you will have to use the new account name when you log in.
