Put some of your pictures on Wikipedia
[edit]Hi Tequask,
User:Russavia asked me to have a look at your pictures. I've put a few up on Wikipedia: see w:Rajneeshpuram and w:Antelope, Oregon. Thanks for contributing to your pictures to Commons and Wikipedia. —Tom Morris (talk) 08:38, 19 June 2012 (UTC)

Year categories
[edit]Tequask, thanks for all your contributions to Commons. I would suggest placing your uploads in the relevant year category, for example we have Category:1980 in Oregon, Category:1984 in Pennsylvania, etc. MB298 (talk) 18:17, 20 February 2016 (UTC)
Photo Challenge – Third Place | |
Congratulations!
Your picture Boeing 747 Runway 24R Takeoff-LAX.jpg won the 3rd place in the Photo Challenge Diagonals, in January 2016. You can find the results of the challenge here. |
Nice pictures!
[edit]It's always good to see people contributing images from the pre-digital era to commons, since freely licensed images from those days are relatively scarce. If you want to add film/camera info, a good way to do that is with Template:Photo Information. Also wanted to point out that on File:Boeing 747 Runway 24R Takeoff-LAX.jpg, Category:1978 in California is redundant, since Category:1978 at Los Angeles International Airport is already a more specific subcategory of that one, as is also the case with Category:Long exposure photography and Category:Aircraft light trails... see COM:OVERCAT for more information about that. Cheers. --Junkyardsparkle (talk) 02:24, 3 March 2016 (UTC)
File:Crazy Horse Memorial Model.jpg has been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether it should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry.
If you created this file, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it, such as a copyright issue. Please see Commons:But it's my own work! for a guide on how to address these issues. |

Did you vote while logged out? I see you fixed votes on the May challenge so am guessing you made the same mistake here. Can you fix it please. -- Colin (talk) 17:54, 1 August 2017 (UTC)

Categories without type
[edit]Dear Tequask,
I stumbled about some of the categories you have created with "Aircraft registered in the United States" like this one Category:N902AK (aircraft) of a Pilatus PC-7.
I really appreciate your work with many rare photographs. But unfortunately, obviously nobody had informed you that entering this category without any further information effectively hides the respective files for almost all persons who try to find specific pictures.
As you write on your user page: "And then as a bonus a photo could actually be included within an article in Wikipedia." However, how can anyone find your fine picture for an article about the PC-7? Most probably nobody will ever search for "N902AK". When I had just started working in "Commons", fortunately an experienced user told me: "A category "Reg (aircraft)" without type is an absolute No-go."
In order to make your interesting and valuable pictures accessible for everyone, may I kindly ask you to add the aircraft type to all your categories of "Aircraft registered in the United States"? I know this will be quite a lot of work, but there will be a big reward for all others and for yourself by knowing many users will then be able to view them.
Kind regards --Uli Elch (talk) 17:51, 4 June 2019 (UTC)
- Half a year ago, I had politely asked you not to hide aircraft pictures any longer by setting up registration categories without any further information. I had asked you to add the aircraft type to all your categories of "Aircraft registered in the United States".
- Unfortunately, you are continuing to disregard this most basic rule, as seen here (17. May 2019) and here just recently (4. November 2019).
- There are fellow users who consider this way of hiding files as vandalism or a kind of sabotage to the project.
- To avoid being taken to the "Commons:Administrators' noticeboard/Vandalism" you really should abandon this destructive way of editing. I ask you once again to add the aircraft type of aircraft when creating new categories. --Uli Elch (talk) 09:34, 20 December 2019 (UTC)
- @Uli Elch This is not vandalism. Your suggestion(s) are fine, however, your negative threat regarding alleged vandalism and "destructive way of editing" is not constructive, nor effective.
- @Tequask, if you still monitor your account, I hope you continue to upload your unique and valuable photos to this project. Thank you, -- Ooligan (talk) 23:32, 20 July 2024 (UTC)
