Re: Soviet flags

[edit]

Hi Supreme Dragon, great work! I've noticed the flags on vexillographia.ru and Russian Wikipedia (File:Флаг СССР от 12 апреля 1924 года.png and File:Флаг СССР от 12 апреля 1924 года.png). I would be glad to fix some details on these two flags. --Ericmetro (talk) 01:39, 14 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Presidential standards

[edit]

Hi Supreme Dragon, thanks for your recent upload. As FOTW regard these flags as "flag of the Republic", and there're actually no presidents in other SSRs, I think these would be ceremonial banners for the soviet council meetings, parades or other purposes(such as [1] or [2]). Soviet ceremonial banners generally use velvet silk material and heavily embroidered, and have many variations on the design.

So we might better be prudent about naming these files to avoid original research, as we haven't find laws or regulations ratify their purpose. Anyway I do think there would be general design as the Estonian one shows ([3]). Unfortunately, I'm already working on several vectorizing projects, so I might not be able to create these images these days. --Ericmetro (talk) 06:08, 29 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Taegukgi/South Korean Flag Colors

[edit]

Hi Supreme Dragon,

I personally would like to thank you for your efforts and interests in vexillogical progress on Wikipedia. However, concerning your rendering of the South Korean flag, I have some questions about it. Where exactly did you find the requirements for a lighter-colored taeguk? You provided the "Act on the Flag of the Republic of Korea (Act No. 10741, May 30, 2011), Enforcement Decree of the Act on the Flag of the Republic of Korea (Presidential Decree No. 24425, March 23, 2013)" and "etc." as your sources. But for some reason, they were not easily discoverable by an internet search; so, if you could be so kind as to point me to the place where you found the requirements for a lightly-hued flag, I will be grateful.

Thanks, --Wasabi&Cheese (talk) 15:29, 30 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

The link doesn't work for me. Could you download the PDF and upload it to Wikimedia Commons? – Illegitimate Barrister (talk) 08:18, 5 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Very curious to know where you took this photo. I don't imagine the ROC and PRC flags often fly side-by-side. Isaac Rabinovitch (talk) 01:16, 27 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
