Welcome to Wikimedia Commons, Subiratsc!

File:Cc-by-nc-nd.svg

[edit]

Hello, I would like to thank you, for your contribution to my first upload.
I had some difficulties for the license of a picture.
Strangely the (CC-BY-NC-ND) tag doesn’t exist, so I used your image to make "a look like one".
It seems that I am the only user of it, so I hope it will work...
Thanks again.

It is also used by me (but not here in a wiki-project) and in the Wikibooks it has been used by me. Serve yourselfe. Your welcomme. Greeting from Germany --Mjchael (talk) 19:09, 5 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
My license procedure is not finished yet because cc-by-nc-nd have no use in wikimedia world. Vielen Dank trotzdem und Gruß aus Frankreich. --Subiratsc (talk) 20:05, 10 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
According to this selection tree, such a combination should be feasible. The fact that nobody has yet used this combination, should not deter you from using them. It's not the first time, which introduces a Wikipedian an innovation, or an option that no one has used bevor. Je suis heureux à votre service. Salutations collégiales en provenance d'Allemagne. --Mjchael (talk) 21:58, 10 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I know... but all above cc by-sa becomes a No free licence, if i get it right. See my status (anyway free and unlimited notions are hell of a string bag). Bitte trinken Sie ein Glühwein für mich. Viel Spaß --Subiratsc (talk) 23:27, 10 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
In my understanding, this graphic is definitely a free license. Everybody is allowed to use this work. But not change it. This makes sense when you write songs, and wants to retain some control over the form of the text. The restriction for non-commercial use provides a great freedom to use this work. My songs may be freely used for guitar lessons, if incurred by the student (except for the pure cost of printing), no additional costs. For my part I still add, that my work is free for wiki-projects, but other publishers who have no connection to the wiki projects shouldn't earn money with my work, without awarded me at least a little compensation. I hope at least one or two sample copies of the song books are made available. (I write courses for guitar and for this some songs.) That this maybe leads to discussions is clear to me. But I hope that at some time other artists will also write something for a wiki project. However, if this eventually succeed lies in the stars.
I fully agree. Anyway, I hope that your success lies in the stars.

No free licence. XenonX3 (talk) 17:02, 7 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I'm the 'beginner' uploader of this file and I have full copyright on it.

During the upload process, the choice given to me did not completely corespond to what I wanted, so I chose "I'm not sure" I did not want only cc-by-sa (Copyright + Share allow) but cc-by-nc-nd (Copyright + Share allow + No change + No sale). If i get it right. Since then, I have completed this area 'properly' with both so I do not see what I can do more/less.

Please help me on that. Thanks by advence. Subiratsc 21:50, 07 December 2011

Hello, if you want a long answer you can read Commons:Licensing, but i will summarise it for you here. There are some licences which are allowed on Commons and some are allowed only as an additional licence. The goal is to create a repository of free (as in freedom) images. ND and NC licences are by their definition not free, because those who download the content are then limited in how they use it, thus these licences, although can be given as a choice, cannot be the only type for that image. You now have two possibilities, you can yourself vote to delete the image, because if it is kept it must be under a free licence, most of the time here, if the uploader has honestly made a mistake, we delete the images; or you can chose a free licence and release it like that (that licence must allow alteration, redistribution, and use for any reason including commercial or contrary to the spirit of original). Hello, thank you for help for this upload VolodyA! V Anarhist. I hope that now it meets the commons ways on licencing and it won't by deleted. Tell me if it is ? We could have a little chat on the words free and unlimited, which find their meanings in the vision of each of us... But with your summarise, it have been more clear to me. So thanks again. --Subiratsc (talk) 19:35, 10 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, the licence looks fine now. But i would suggest that you go through COM:OTRS process, because the copyright itself seems to be in question also. VolodyA! V Anarhist (converse) 05:29, 11 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, thank you for the follow-up assistance. Waiting now for the acceptance. --Subiratsc (talk) 03:19, 12 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
