Map use

[edit]

Eric,

I'm including your blank topographical map in my dissertation on the creation of the modern border between Spain and France. Of course credit is given. Thanks so much for your work! It's by far the clearest topographical map and it thankfully isn't overcrowded with information.

Thanks again, Daniel Fahrenthold dfahrenthold@gmail.com

Photo location

[edit]

Hi there. I noticed this photo, and tried to confirm the location using Google satellite based on the coordinates you provided. I wasn't able to find it. Could you please let me know the specific coordinates? Thanks. Magnolia677 (talk) 03:51, 28 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your response on my talk page. Since you were the original uploader of this photo, what was your source? How do you know it was taken in Markham? Thanks again. Magnolia677 (talk) 19:36, 30 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Southern Africa

[edit]

If you ever have time, a location map for southern Africa may be useful. That would be a map as far north as the Kunene river, the northern border of Namibia, and the Zambezi, the northern border of Zimbabwe, and along the Zambezi river down to the sea. JMK (talk) 09:44, 1 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

A mystery to me when using these maps in general is which name to use when calling them, in for instance {{Location map+|Africa ... JMK (talk) 09:44, 1 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Irrelevant deletion request based on false allegation: I clearly indicated which free to use source I used to draw the map, as well as I clearly informed that Wikimapia was only used for the toponymy, which isn't copyrighted. No copyright infringement here. Sting (talk) 15:02, 27 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

use of Via Egnatia map

[edit]

Hi, Eric, Sting

I am producing a Shutterfly book of photos taken on my recent trip there. The map resolution on Shutterfly's upload is not sufficient, but I have printed it, and plan to paste it into the book. It is for my use only, and to show my friends. Thanks for producing the map, Maxine — Preceding unsigned comment was added by 2602:30A:2E14:5BE0:5129:A28F:7561:2809 (talk) 11:42, 11 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Hi, Sting. I admire your cartographical work. I wonder if you might create a map such as this one you created back in 2009, removing country borders and the rest of administrative borders, in order to make it more useful to locate portuguese settlements in the Atlantic Mahgrib Coast from an Early Modern perspective. Best regards.--Asqueladd (talk) 16:07, 29 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Correct "W" in wiki puzzle piece trophies

[edit]

In Goldenwiki 2.png file there is an incorrect "W" letter. It should be "" (according to this and this). I noticed you are an original uploader of that file. Could you fix it (correct W could be seen Gold piece.png)? --Dvorapa (talk) 09:59, 4 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
