Greetings
[edit]Hiya Thomas: Friendly admin here... I noticed you uploaded some historical images claiming them as own work. Since I also see your personal photography and sense a spirit of interest in local geography, I'm writing you personally to let you know that the system is not impersonal, nor is anyone mad at you. Copyright is a very intricate set of rules and some of your images need to be explained before we can keep them. That is why a big yellow box appears below this note. Please follow the link on each box and help document the images which unfortunately have to go through this process. Leave me a message here, or at my talk page, it's best if you ping me by typing {{u|Ellin Beltz}} somewhere in the body of the note to get my attention (same for any other editor or admin you wish to notify). Any image published in the U.S. before 1923 is {{PD-US}} , its the images after that which you didn't take which will be generating discussion boxes. Cheers!! File:Historic Hemet Theatre 1938.jpg has been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether it should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry.
If you created this file, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it, such as a copyright issue. Please see Commons:But it's my own work! for a guide on how to address these issues. |

P.S. Please take some time and use the changes I've made to your images:
- File:Gibbel Hardware, Downtown Hemet 2.jpg
- File:Gibbel Hardware - 1918 Earthquake.jpg by using the "history" button and compare previous and current, you'll see the changes made.
Then please take some more time and fix up your other historical images? I'll come back in a day or two and see how you're getting along if you don't ping me first. Cheers! Ellin Beltz (talk) 16:20, 3 January 2016 (UTC)
