WORMS images
[edit]Today I was reviewing the images you uploaded on March 25 and see that there was no actual url for those images so I went searching for them and see that all those images are copyright under a creative commons non-commercial share alike licence which we do not accept. They have all be nominated for deletion and I'm not going to bother listing them all for you. I also had a quick look at the previous images you downlaoaded and even though you claim they are freely licence those too all appear to be NOT free. This is a complete pain in the neck for us volunteers; you need to provide the correct url for the page each image appears on but did not bother to do that. Even though the text is clearly indicated to be freely licenced, when you click on each image the copyright notice CC-BY-NC-SA is plain to see under each image.
So, please stop uploading unfree images for which you fail to add the appropriate needed details. We take copyright status and sourcing very seriously and the images you uploaded don't have this information. Because you did not take the photos yourself and they are copyright to someone else, and you found them on a website, in future, please don't upload them unless you have permission of the copyright holder or they are clearly freely licenced. - Hello,
- The picture File:Contradusta bregeriana 1 (Cypraeidae).jpg and the others too i uploaded on March 25 is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-Noncommercial-Share Alike 3.0 License. Maybe,I made a mistake in the description by using an interface in Breton, but photos are usable. Maybe I have to put a more precise link towards every photo instead of a general link towards Worms

- Unfortunately, I'm sorry to tell you that we do not accept the restrictive non-commercial (or non-derivative) licence, because they are not considered free enough for us, so these image will have to be deleted unless you can persuade the copyright holder to give permisssion under a freer licence. Sorry but that's the policy; they may be useable but not here. See COM:TAG#Free Creative Commons licenses for more details. Ww2censor (talk) 23:56, 27 March 2015 (UTC)
- Hi, I have just read the various texts concerning the various licenses and to understand the necessity of the CC-By-SA.
- For me the CC-By-NC was widely sufficient (self-important), but I understood that they are not.
- As a result, many of the images that I downloaded since WORMS since July, 2014 are under the same license CC-By-NC and have to be deleted.
- It is going to be difficult for me to illustrate now articles wikipedia on which I work.
- Best regards, Slán go fóill, kenavo Splujer (talk) 08:35, 28 March 2015 (UTC)
- Now you understand more fully the licences that are allowed and not allowed. Unfortunately I sympathise with you that it may be difficult for you to find images easily for the articles that interest you. I too have this problem with some articles I edit but that is just the way it is. I know these are rather specialised images but don't forget to check out Flickr under the first and last links on this webpage https://www.flickr.com/creativecommons/. Those are the free ones but we can't use all the others. Have you checked out some of the US government websites, such a Fish and Wildlife? Most of their images are in the public domain. Just ask if you need some help. I'll go through the rest of your uploads and nominate all the WORMS images for deletion. I do realise a lot of work has gone into finding and uploading them in the first place. Good luck. Bonjour et merci. Ww2censor (talk) 10:49, 28 March 2015 (UTC)
