User talk:Special~commonswiki
Welcome
[edit]Hello Special, welcome on the commons. Could you please add a link to the mentioned "Nadine" in Image:Pelecanus_conspicillatus.jpg (as by [[:en:User:Xyz]])? Thanx --:Bdk: 04:29, 16 Dec 2004 (UTC)
- Hi Bdk, the user link will be a problem because the mentioned "Nadine" has no wiki account. With her permission I added her full name. Will this do? :special:
- Hello Special, well done. In this case (you know the author) the full name isn´t neccesary, but it´s better anyway. I thought you may have copied it from one wikipedia. Many users forget to make links to the original author, that was the only reason for my question. :-) By the way, for further communication with other users it is always helpful to use the Commons:Babel templates ... Greetings from :Bdk: 12:11, 17 Dec 2004 (UTC)

Thanks for uploading File:Pelecanus_conspicillatus.jpg. This media is missing permission information. A source is given, but there is no proof that the author or copyright holder agreed to license the file under the given license. Please provide a link to an appropriate webpage with license information, or ask the author or copyright holder to send an email with copy of a written permission to VRT (permissions-commons@wikimedia.org). You may still be required to go through this procedure even if you are the author yourself; please see Commons:But it's my own work! for more details. After you emailed permission, you may replace the {{No permission since}} tag with {{subst:PP}} on file description page. Alternatively, you may click on "Challenge speedy deletion" below the tag if you wish to provide an argument why evidence of permission is not necessary in this case.
Please see this page for more information on how to confirm permission, or if you would like to understand why we ask for permission when uploading work that is not your own, or work which has been previously published (regardless of whether it is your own). Warning: unless the permission information is given, the file may be deleted after seven days. Thank you. |

Your account will be renamed
[edit]Hello,
The developer team at Wikimedia is making some changes to how accounts work, as part of our on-going efforts to provide new and better tools for our users like cross-wiki notifications. These changes will mean you have the same account name everywhere. This will let us give you new features that will help you edit and discuss better, and allow more flexible user permissions for tools. One of the side-effects of this is that user accounts will now have to be unique across all 900 Wikimedia wikis. See the announcement for more information.
Unfortunately, your account clashes with another account also called Special. To make sure that both of you can use all Wikimedia projects in future, we have reserved the name Special~commonswiki that only you will have. If you like it, you don't have to do anything. If you do not like it, you can pick out a different name.
Your account will still work as before, and you will be credited for all your edits made so far, but you will have to use the new account name when you log in.
Sorry for the inconvenience.
Yours,
Keegan Peterzell
