Our first steps tour and our frequently asked questions will help you a lot after registration. They explain how to customize the interface (for example the language), how to upload files and our basic licensing policy (Wikimedia Commons only accepts free content). You don't need technical skills in order to contribute here. Be bold when contributing and assume good faith when interacting with others. This is a wiki. More information is available at the community portal. You may ask questions at the help desk, village pump or on IRC channel #wikimedia-commons (webchat). You can also contact an administrator on their talk page. If you have a specific copyright question, ask at the copyright village pump. |

[edit]Creative Commons licenses are non-revocable on Wikimedia Commons. This means that you cannot stop someone, who has obtained your work under a Creative Commons license, from using the work according to that license. You can stop distributing your work under a Creative Commons license at any time you wish; but this will not withdraw any copies of your work that already exist under a Creative Commons license from circulation, be they verbatim copies, copies included in collective works and/or adaptations of your work. So you need to think carefully when choosing a Creative Commons license to make sure that you are happy for people to be using your work consistent with the terms of the license, even if you later stop distributing your work. I'm sorry for the inconvenience. Thank you, ZooFari 23:26, 20 May 2010 (UTC)
- hello ZooFari. I understand your explanation, but the problem is deeper. The photos do not belong to me: it's not me who took these pictures. I mistakenly posted these photos on Flickr, with an incorrect setting license (Creative Commons). Now, not only the license is wrong, but most photos do not belong to me. It would abolish the four photos I marked for deletion.
