[edit]

I don't remember the image right now but it was a poster and Commons cannot accept it because it would be copyrighted...by the person who made the image. It does not matter if someone took an image of the poster and licensed the image freely in his/her flickr account. Its still not free for Common's because the original creator of the poster holds the copyright over the poster. Did he/she license his work freely? No one knows and Commons cannot risk a lawsuit. Sorry, --Leoboudv (talk) 04:39, 21 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

  •  Comment: Only Wikipedia can accept copyrighted non free images as in this Case with a non-free fair use rationale. You should upload the image at Wikipedia by clicking 'upload file' I believe. Today I never upload non-free image files at wikipedia because once someone removes your photo from a wikipedia article, it will be deleted in 7 days. PS: If someone thinks your non-free image is not important to a wikipedia article and files a deletion request, it might also be deleted in 7 days at wikipedia. Just note, Commons cannot host images of modern copyrighted posters or paintings. Best Regards, --Leoboudv (talk) 04:48, 21 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

A file that you uploaded to Wikimedia Commons from Flickr, File:Kate Walsh USO Tour 4.jpg, was found available on Flickr by an administrator or reviewer under the license Noncommercial (NC), No derivative works (ND), or All Rights Reserved (Copyright), which isn't compatible with Wikimedia Commons, per the licensing policy. The file has been deleted. Commons:Flickr files/Appeal for license change has information about sending the Flickr user an appeal asking for the license to be changed. Only Flickr images tagged as BY (CC BY), BY SA (CC BY-SA), CC0 (CC0) and PDM (PDM) are allowed on Wikimedia Commons. If the Flickr user has changed the license of the Flickr image, feel free to ask an administrator to restore the file, or start an undeletion request.
