Using one of your pictures in a textbook
I will be including your picture of the Tinghøjen tumulus in a textbook --in an illustrations appendix, about 5 cm high, with a comment and credits below. This being printed text (no way of hyperlinking to your page) would you still want it to be credited to 'Kim Hansen' only? I could also add a location, URL, whatever. I can also be contacted at thechabon a a a t hot mail d o o t com.

No problem : you did well. As you probably noticed it, I'm a beginner on the photo pages. I liked your photo because of its atmosphere and I supported it without looking carefully enough at all the technical details... Or maybe it's because I'm an old man needing new glasses ! -- So don't revert the new photo to the QI revision. The passer-by on the left and the two big birds above the church are OK. The third (smallest) one can be easily removed. The wind in the trees is not bad. Only slight problem IMO : the blue CA on the top of the big grey tombstone (just under the statue) and on the small one (next to its left arm). It's the same on the two pictures... But don't worry : I had to notice it before, it's not your fault, it's mine. -- Sorry for my English. Regards. -- JLPC (talk) 21:51, 12 June 2012 (UTC)
- Hi, Slaunger !
- First of all, thanks a lot for the Original Barnstar. I've never been used to this kind of award and I'm not sure to be worthy of it ! In fact, I'm a bit old now to be proud with it as I should have been years before... But I'm glad you've understood I'm trying to do my best here to join the atmosphere and to fairly compete with photos -- not with people. I've been kindly greeted by Jebulon first, then by Archedontosaurus, who helped me a lot. I'm now glad to meet you this way and to know that you're Jebulon's friend. I hope we'll often meet on photo pages and maybe one day in Paris, after lots of QIs, FPs, etc. -- You asked me yesterday about CAs but I saw this evening they've disappeared from your picture, so I suppose you got rid of them. In fact, concerning your tombstones, I thought the clone brush was a possible solution, with a slight use of gaussian blur thereafter. I don't know a lot about CAs ; there are probably lots of possibilities to deal with them ; you've used one and everything is OK now. As a matter of fact, I was right at first sight : you really deserved your QI for Asmild Kirke ! -- Regards from France.JLPC (talk) 21:18, 13 June 2012 (UTC)
- Hi JLPC, Thanks for your kind words. I am smiling regarding you comments about being "old". Age does not matter on Commons. I know very a good photographer here, who is in his seventies (and exactly 30 years older than me). Thank you for the hint regarding cloning + Gaussian blur for fixing CA. See you around. --Slaunger (talk) 20:07, 14 June 2012 (UTC)
About Margrethe I
I prefer discussions to short (and sometimes tough) annotations under the photos. Just a few words about the picture you downloaded this evening. IMO, it would be better if the water edge, in the background, was straight... But it's only my opinion. (I have tried to inspect the whole photo in case of CAs !) -- Second point : I want to apologise not to have remarked, last week, that you had downloaded two panos for VI the same evening I downloaded one. I'd have liked to promote them but I was in a hurry for different reasons... and I didn't look at all the photos. -- Anyway, here's a "Bonsoir" from France. Best regards. JLPC (talk) 20:16, 19 June 2012 (UTC)
- Hi JLCP, Thanks for your comment. I agree! I noticed this myself after having uploaded it, and I uploaded a new version, tilt-corrected half an hour ago. To see it you may have to clear you cache. Anyway no need for sorry with regard to the panoramas. I think it is a good thing to have several different reviewers look at your contributions, as they emphasize different things, which helps you improve in general. And actually, I had not noticed that you had uploaded a panorama as well. --Slaunger (talk) 20:34, 19 June 2012 (UTC)
For what it's worth
I don't have much on wiki time at present however I do agree with your posting on the obvious page regarding PK. His actions do seem a little vindictive however - much of the time - he is correct in his nominations. None of us are exempt from proving valid licensing and certainly not administrators. I doubt I will have time for detailed reading for a while but you know where I am if I can help. Best --Herby talk thyme 16:31, 20 June 2012 (UTC)
- Hi Herby, Always nice to know that you are around. And glad to hear that I am not alone in my concern about the process. --Slaunger (talk) 08:06, 21 June 2012 (UTC)
About PK
Just a few word on Pieter Kuiper, the talk page is totally going crazy, and I appreciate you try to find facts. However I'm suprised of two things:
- The 3 DRs on my files are pure retaliation from my interaction with Pieter, that is not acceptable (on the 3 one was deleted, I agree on deletion cause I couldn't check the authorship of this temporary exhibition).
- The fact Léna (who is closed to me) closed one of the DR, doesn't change it was a bad call from Pieter Kuiper. We don't delete wrong identification, we correct that, I needed time to go through my archives (RAW files takes a lot of hard disk space) and couldn't do it during the wedding of one of my friend, it annoyed PK, and BOUM DR. Sorry this DR has been reviewed, and no one complaint about Léna's closing, I think mentioning is twisting the fact.
In the end based on that I think people are also taking advantage of the action PK did against me to get rid of him. However I don't want to be part of the discussion that I found is a total overreaction and over drama on the noticeboard. --PierreSelim (talk) 11:40, 21 June 2012 (UTC)
- Hi Pierre, thanks for your message. I deleted the "reasonable" column as it was subjctive. Regarding the role of the closing admin, I am only quoting facts. Or facts about what has been said. I am not judging anyone. But feel free to add nuances, like the one that you were not available to the thread if you like. Personally, I only see one of the DRs as retaliatory. The plant one. That is a clumsy way to re-engage in a discussion. --Slaunger (talk) 11:48, 21 June 2012 (UTC)
