Runescape screenshot
[edit]I have tagged all of your Runescape screenshot as speedy delete because they are non-free media. OhanaUnitedTalk page 16:37, 23 August 2008 (UTC)
- There's a thing call copyright. If you made a game yourself, but someone steals an image out of your game and claims it's his, will you be happy about it? You cannot take someone's image (whether it's a screenshot or something else), the creator has the creative originality that is rightfully his. Unless he/she gives permission for you to use it, you cannot take it. These are referred as non-free media because they're not free to be used anywhere. Pay attention to copyright | Image:Cabbage patch teleport.PNG has been marked as a copyright violation. Wikimedia Commons only accepts free content, that is, images and other media files that can be used by anyone, for any purpose. For details on what is acceptable, please read Commons:Licensing. You can ask questions about Commons policies in Commons:Help desk.
The file you added will soon be deleted. If you believe this image is not a copyright violation, please explain why on the image description page.

Wikimedia Commons has a specific scope
[edit]
Thank you for your contributions. Your image or other content was recently deleted, or will soon be deleted, in accordance with our process and policies, because it was not, or is not, within our scope. Please review our project scope, but in short, Commons is targeted at media files including photographs, diagrams, animations, music, spoken text and video clips. Wikimedia Commons does not contain text articles like encyclopedia articles, textbooks, news, word definitions and such. Each of these other kinds of content have their own projects: Wikipedia, Wikibooks, Wikisource, Wikinews, Wiktionary and Wikiquote.
If the content seems to fit the scope of one of those other projects, please consider contributing it there. If you think that the deletion was in error because the contribution really was in scope, you can appeal it at Commons:Undeletion requests, giving a reason why it fits our scope to help others evaluate the matter. Thank you for your understanding. Sdrtirs (talk) 01:15, 30 August 2008 (UTC)

This image was deleted by this reason: No fair use at Commons: Video game screenshot. Commons is a place for free images, fair use images will be deleted!--Sdrtirs (talk) 19:47, 30 August 2008 (UTC)
Fair use questions
[edit]Hi! You are wondering what is fair use. You can see en:Fair use for more information. Basically, is using a copyrighted media (images, sound, video...) without permission of the copyrighted owner only for critical comment and educational use. Commons doesn't allow fair use. English language Wikipedia, for example, allows fair use under some circumstances described on en:Wikipedia:Fair use. Commons doesn't allow fair use because Wikimedia Commons meant to be a place for free content and fair use is not free. Fair use images on Commons will be deleted. I hope I had explain it simple to you because this is something a bit complicated. Regards, Sdrtirs (talk) 00:43, 1 September 2008 (UTC)
deleted a couple more
[edit]I deleted a couple more of your unfree screenshots. It should have sunk in by now that they should not be uploaded here. --Dschwen (talk) 23:23, 24 March 2009 (UTC)
File:Wcing_yews.gif has been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether it should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry.
If you created this file, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it, such as a copyright issue. Please see Commons:But it's my own work! for a guide on how to address these issues. |

File source is not properly indicated: File:NikolaTeslaquoted.jpg
[edit]This media was probably deleted. |
A file that you have uploaded to Wikimedia Commons, File:NikolaTeslaquoted.jpg, was missing information about where it comes from or who created it, which is needed to verify its copyright status. The file probably has been deleted. If you've got all required information, request undeletion providing this information and the link to the concerned file (
[[:File:NikolaTeslaquoted.jpg]] ).
If you created the content yourself, enter If someone else created the content, or if it is based on someone else's work, the source should be the address to the web page where you found it, the name and ISBN of the book you scanned it from, or similar. You should also name the author, provide verifiable information to show that the content is in the public domain or has been published under a free license by its author, and add an appropriate template identifying the public domain or licensing status, if you have not already done so. Warning: Wikimedia Commons takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing. Please add the required information for this and other files you have uploaded before adding more files. If you need assistance, please ask at the help desk. Thank you! |

Your account will be renamed
[edit]Hello,
The developer team at Wikimedia is making some changes to how accounts work, as part of our on-going efforts to provide new and better tools for our users like cross-wiki notifications. These changes will mean you have the same account name everywhere. This will let us give you new features that will help you edit and discuss better, and allow more flexible user permissions for tools. One of the side-effects of this is that user accounts will now have to be unique across all 900 Wikimedia wikis. See the announcement for more information.
Unfortunately, your account clashes with another account also called Sistemx. To make sure that both of you can use all Wikimedia projects in future, we have reserved the name Sistemx~commonswiki that only you will have. If you like it, you don't have to do anything. If you do not like it, you can pick out a different name.
Your account will still work as before, and you will be credited for all your edits made so far, but you will have to use the new account name when you log in.
Sorry for the inconvenience.
Yours,
Keegan Peterzell
