It may seem logical to you, but unfortunately many will associate it with prison uniforms or crosswalks or zebras, rather than with heterosexuality. Few would intuitively understand it without explanation or context, and some might not appreciate the symbolism of the implied contrast with the rainbow flag. AnonMoos (talk) 04:08, 20 February 2013 (UTC)
- I think you've misunderstood me -- I'm not at all "offended" by it, and I don't want it deleted (I wouldn't have uploaded a version with improved PNG compression if I wanted it deleted), and I don't have any unilateral power to delete anything. I was just pointing out, as an informal and uncredentialled student of symbolism, some of the factors which might prevent it from gaining wide acceptance (what usage it has now seems to be from people who start with the gay flag and consider how to hetero it up, which is probably not how the majority of the population would approach such symbolisms). Currently, the male and female symbols together (e.g. File:HeteroSym-pinkblue2.svg and slight variations) seem to be far more common in quasi-mainstream media uses than any flag... AnonMoos (talk) 03:01, 21 February 2013 (UTC)
- I'm just a patroller and filemover here, which is fairly low on the hierarchy, and even admins can't restrict people arbitrarily according to purely personal inclinations, so I can't directly forbid you from doing anything.
- As for Sexual identity symbols, I was just restoring caption changes which didn't seem to be improvements, or which I didn't understand. I don't understand what the difference between "romantic asexualism" and "demisexualism" is. As for "AVEN triangle", if it's just the logo of one particular organization, and doesn't have any larger meaning or symbolism, then it wouldn't belong on the "Sexual identity symbols" page. AnonMoos (talk) 03:07, 24 February 2013 (UTC)
- P.S. How about renaming it to "Heterosexual dichotomy flag.png"? I'm a filemover, so that's one thing I actually can do (if you agree)... AnonMoos (talk) 04:02, 24 February 2013 (UTC)
Copyright status: File:Pennsylvania German Flag.png
[edit]This media may be deleted. |
Thanks for uploading File:Pennsylvania German Flag.png. I notice that the file page either doesn't contain enough information about the license or it contains contradictory information about the license, so the copyright status is unclear.
If you created this file yourself, then you must provide a valid copyright tag. For example, you can tag it with {{self|GFDL|cc-by-sa-all}} to release it under the multi-license GFDL plus Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike All-version license or you can tag it with {{PD-self}} to release it into the public domain. (See Commons:Copyright tags for the full list of license tags that you can use.) If you did not create the file yourself or if it is a derivative of another work that is possibly subject to copyright protection, then you must specify where you found it (e.g. usually a link to the web page where you got it), you must provide proof that it has a license that is acceptable for Commons (e.g. usually a link to the terms of use for content from that page), and you must add an appropriate license tag. If you did not create the file yourself and the specific source and license information is not available on the web, you must obtain permission through the VRT system and follow the procedure described there. Note that any unsourced or improperly licensed files will be deleted one week after they have been marked as lacking proper information, as described in criteria for deletion. If you have uploaded other files, please confirm that you have provided the proper information for those files, too. If you have any questions about licenses please ask at Commons:Village pump/Copyright or see our help pages. Thank you. |

Harassment
[edit]You have been reported on the Administrators' noticeboard regarding your harassments and disruptive behaviour. Thanks.--Никола Стоіаноски 19:31, 21 May 2013 (UTC)
Please remain calm and collegial
[edit]
Using an ethnic slur against another user as you did here is unacceptable. Please refrain from commenting on the user, and comment on the topic you're discussing instead. I've protected Linguistic flags temporarily to prevent further reverts. Please address the issue of sourcing for your changes which has been brought up at Talk:Linguistic flags. [edit]- I have removed your editing privileges because, despite being warned numerous times to stop your disruptive editing, you have elected to continuously ignore both our advice and our policies. Since dealing with you at this point would be complete waste of everyone's time, you are blocked until you decide you are ready to edit in a productive and collegial manner. -FASTILY 03:53, 11 July 2013 (UTC)
- Blocked?! Sizzling circuits! If you're referring to the recent "Deleeeete" spree over at Wikipedia, that was a neighbour who we had to watch for the day who went out of control on my Wikipedia account because I didn't log out. If this is about ethnic slurs or saying "analbeads", sorry. I never said an ethnic slur (it's not an ethnic slur). You deleted the one page without any discussion other than "it have prõblem". So I wrote my opinion. I don't recall being disruptive myself. Well, I can still edit my userpage (I hope?) and that's the only reason I got an account here anyway ^^. Well, I hope you people can understand that people have opinions and different ways of voicing them. You're actually the uncoöperative ones. ^^ Have a wonderful day!
- Oh, and I was thinking about apologising for the "ethnic slur", but now I can't D: oh well. Byes!--Shikku27316 (talk) 04:06, 11 July 2013 (UTC)`
- So, can you unblock me now? You seem to be here a lot. I'm sure you saw my above message. Please reread it and we can have a discussion. Or give me your e-mail. Thanks. --Shikku27316 (talk)`
I put the template up after writing "Analbeadz" below. Also, unblock my cousin, she did nothing wrong. --Shikku27316 (talk) 03:55, 30 July 2013 (UTC)`
This
[edit]Okay, let's talk here. First of all, I didn't insult you, you said my pictures were "crayon pics", so I said that too. Also, the way you said "To make this EASY for you" was kind of insulting. Un-delete my pictures, I gave you the sources. I can't put your crayon pics up for deletion, I have no way to do that. Again, I did not insult you, so you can't use that to say I shouldn't be unblocked. I think I can be unblocked now. And my pictures aren't all nonsense. You only deleted them because you hate me. You haven't even gotten to File:Belarus flag.png because you don't hate the uploader. I can be unblocked now. If anyone deserves to be blocked, it's you-you deleted all my files with no good reason, you won't listen to me, you won't get to the point, and you've never uploaded any useful files to Wikimedia Commons. Please respond about these comments, thank you. --Shikku27316 (talk) 18:07, 1 August 2013 (UTC)`
- No, I don't hate you. Why should I? I have other things to do. So, I need to be blocked and that is the point why you should be unblocked? You really need to grow up. Read abot the projects and learn. That you can do without an account. I will not override the administrator who blocked you for, I quote: Disruptive Editing: Gross incompetence, does not understand policies, makes personal attacks, and refuses to get the point. Blocked until user decides to grow up and edit collegially. I will not reply to any of your comments from now on. --Hedwig in Washington (mail?) 22:23, 1 August 2013 (UTC)
- I said you should be blocked, but that has nothing to do with why I should be unblocked. My reasons for why you should be blocked had nothing to do with my block. Also, avoiding me shows that you're not grown up, you know. You also won't get to the point, another reason why I was blocked, because you're not saying, "Oh, these are good reasons to be unblocked" or "these aren't good reasons to be unblocked." Also, how should I prove that I'm ready to be unblocked? I'm being patient and grown up with you, I'm getting to the point, I haven't personally attacked you or anyone since the block, and I'm less "incompetent" than you are being with me, so what else should I do? I'd like it if you'd respond, I'm bringing up goos points, and avoiding me is not grown up. Thanks. --Shikku27316 (talk) 02:20, 2 August 2013 (UTC)`

Unblock
[edit]But I was blocked for about a month, and I can show you the conversations I had with Hedwig in Washington on here and Wikipedia. I think I'm good now. --Shikku27316 (talk) 18:11, 6 August 2013 (UTC)`
- Will anyone listen to me? I've gotten better, I don't know how to prove that to you. There are some things I can and need to do. --Shikku27316 (talk) 17:44, 11 August 2013 (UTC)``````
Unblock-please converse with me about this
[edit]- What "continued incompetence"? I'm trying to fix things. I have so much that I can fix. I really want to help this project. I have lots of great contributions to make. Reread the unblock request. I see nothing "incompetent". How do I get a clean slate? I think I already have one. The only reason for the whole "Analbeadz" thing was because I was really depressed. I'm better now, and I have a goal to make this place better. I can show you how, too. I'm not "unbudging". I'm trying to converse with someone who acctually understands this whole thing.
