[edit]...you for this file! Do you have more of russian military transport on rail? Greets, High Contrast (talk) 08:28, 10 June 2009 (UTC)
- yes, but I'm not sure, what kind of military equipment photographed --Sergeev Pavel (talk) 09:18, 10 June 2009 (UTC)
- That's no problem - upload it and put the images you are not sure in this category: Category:Military equipment of Russia. How many files do you have? When do they come? --High Contrast (talk) 07:44, 11 June 2009 (UTC)
Tip: Categorizing images
[edit]
Thanks a lot for contributing to the Wikimedia Commons! Here's a tip to make your uploads more useful: Why not add some categories to describe them? This will help more people to find and use them.
Here's how:
1) If you're using the UploadWizard, you can add categories to each file when you describe it. Just click "more options" for the file and add the categories which make sense:
2) You can also pick the file from your list of uploads, edit the file description page, and manually add the category code at the end of the page.

For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbits of comets, you add the following code:

This will make the diagram show up in the categories "Astronomical diagrams" and "Comets".
When picking categories, try to choose a specific category ("Astronomical diagrams") over a generic one ("Illustrations").
Thanks again for your uploads! More information about categorization can be found in Commons:Categories, and don't hesitate to leave a note on the help desk.BotMultichillT 06:20, 12 August 2009 (UTC)

I don't think you need a translation, but just for the record, the reader challenges a photo you provided, on the error reports page. According to his expertise, the device mentioned in the image description is not the one depicted. Hopefully, you can amend the problem if our reader is correct. If not (meaning you can't amend the problem but the problem is there 81.195.29.82 21:40, 6 July 2010 (UTC)), then you might want to report the picture here yourself, or ask me to escalate the case over to that page. 83.237.99.137 20:47, 5 July 2010 (UTC) (ru:user:Легат Ская)

[edit]This media was probably deleted. |
A file that you have uploaded to Wikimedia Commons, File:Anatoly_Alyabyev_2.jpg, was missing information about where it comes from or who created it, which is needed to verify its copyright status. The file probably has been deleted. If you've got all required information, request undeletion providing this information and the link to the concerned file (
:File:Anatoly_Alyabyev_2.jpg ).
If you created the content yourself, enter If someone else created the content, or if it is based on someone else's work, the source should be the address to the web page where you found it, the name and ISBN of the book you scanned it from, or similar. You should also name the author, provide verifiable information to show that the content is in the public domain or has been published under a free license by its author, and add an appropriate template identifying the public domain or licensing status, if you have not already done so. Warning: Wikimedia Commons takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing. Please add the required information for this and other files you have uploaded before adding more files. If you need assistance, please ask at the help desk. Thank you! |

- It was understandable already who had taken the photo of the photo and where the photo is stored. Its however not clear what the copyright status of the original photo is. The person was born in 1951, this photo is with 99,99 % probability not public domain. Creating a photo of a photo is a derivative work, while the original photo is not free of rights you can not upload it here, see Commons:First steps/License selection: Can you for sure deny third party rights? No, you cant or at least you not provided any information why you can. Thats essentiall source information, missing here. --Martin H. (talk) 10:39, 29 October 2010 (UTC)

File tagging File:Karlsson-on-the-Roof 6.JPG
[edit]This media was probably deleted.
|
Thanks for uploading File:Karlsson-on-the-Roof 6.JPG. This media is missing permission information. A source is given, but there is no proof that the author or copyright holder agreed to license the file under the given license. Please provide a link to an appropriate webpage with license information, or ask the author or copyright holder to send an email with copy of a written permission to VRT (permissions-commons@wikimedia.org). You may still be required to go through this procedure even if you are the author yourself; please see Commons:But it's my own work! for more details. After you emailed permission, you may replace the No permission since tag with on file description page. Alternatively, you may click on "Challenge speedy deletion" below the tag if you wish to provide an argument why evidence of permission is not necessary in this case.
Please see this page for more information on how to confirm permission, or if you would like to understand why we ask for permission when uploading work that is not your own, or work which has been previously published (regardless of whether it is your own). The file probably has been deleted. If you sent a permission, try to send it again after 14 days. Do not re-upload. When the VRT-member processes your mail, the file can be undeleted. Additionally you can request undeletion here, providing a link to the File-page on Commons where it was uploaded (:File:Karlsson-on-the-Roof 6.JPG ) and the above demanded information in your request. |

Photo usage
[edit]Hello :-)
I just wanted to say "Thank you very much" for your picture: http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Russia_Vologda_Panoramic_view_88.jpg
My name is Daniel, i used that picture in my little "travel around the world" puzzle game for android.
When a player sees your image (when completing a level) there is a short sentence describing the location visible on your panorama and also you are credited directly as "Photographer". Hopefully you are fine with that, if you want any changes please contact me directly. :-)
