Texts and categories
[edit]Hello Senthiaathavan, you take really good and beautiful photos. However, please remember to keep the descriptions neutral per the policy (Neutral point of view) as many of these photos will be used in encyclopedic ways. You can leave your personal comments on the file pages if you like, but do so in another way so that it's clear that it is your own comment. Take a look at how I have fixed this for you on File:Harmony of Life.jpg.
Also please don't use such ambiguous, misleading and artful names for your photos. For example, people searching for a photo of a Toque macaque with a baby will not find it if it goes under the name "Harmony of Life". Read more about this at Commons:File naming.
You also need to learn about categorization here. Categories are not tags. I gave a short leasson to another user some time ago and you can read it here: "Cat lesson". For the more official version, please read Commons:Categories.
It is a bit of learning, but with your exceptional photos, things really should be right so they will have the best chance to be use and seen by a lot of people. All the best, --Cart (talk) 08:49, 24 June 2019 (UTC)
Your pictures are amazing, you are invited to participate in Featured picture candidates
[edit]We request the honor of your presence at Featured picture candidates | ||
Dear Senthi Aathavan Senthilverl, Featured picture candidates needs your help and you can participate by nominating your pictures for the COM:FP tag. You can start nominating pictures now. If you wish you can upload more images like at https://yourshot.nationalgeographic.com/profile/120565/ Welcome! |
And please remember the advice about the file name and description. You can take a look at our featured pictures at COM:FP. And I nominated one of your picture there, you can take a look at the nomination at Commons:Featured picture candidates/File:Harmony of Life.jpg. Thank you very much! -- Eatcha (talk) 10:52, 24 June 2019 (UTC)
Featured picture candidates
[edit]I accidentally found out that you have created some 'Featured picture candidates'.
- Commons:Featured picture candidates/File:Sri Lankan leopard (Panthera pardus kotiya).jpg/2
- Commons:Featured picture candidates/File:Brave Beauty.jpg/2
- Commons:Featured picture candidates/File:Juvenile red-wattled lapwing.jpg/2
- Commons:Featured picture candidates/File:Don't let them fade away.jpg/2
- Commons:Featured picture candidates/File:A Mischievous Grin.jpg/2
First: You have to add them yourself manually to Commons:Featured picture candidates/candidate list otherwise they will not be seen. Second: You are only allowed to have two active nominations at the same time. Third: The '/2' is only to be used if the photo is to be nominated a second time, all of these noms are made for the first time. I will clean up this mess for you, but please read the instructions at COM:FPC more carefully in the future. Only the two first noms will be placed in the list. You are welcome to make new nominations for the other three at a later date, just don't use the '/2' on them. I would also once again remind you about keeping the titels more encyclopedic. --Cart (talk) 10:55, 30 June 2019 (UTC)
- Done I've gone through your photos and fixed all the "paper work" according to Commons standards. Your photos are exceptionally good and I want to give them the very best way of getting noticed, used and seen on the Wikipedia project, that's why I'm such a "pest" about having this done right. All the best, --Cart (talk) 12:11, 30 June 2019 (UTC)
