Unsure why this image was tagged not sourced properly. It is a government website image and is public domain. The NASA website stated credit for image should be listed as Credit:NASA/JPL-Caltech/ASA/MSSS/UA which I included. Please advise what the issue is? Sara8s001 (talk) 01:29, 26 November 2013 (UTC)
- Hi Sara, thanks for your response to my message. Could you please provide the URL to the image (or, if you got it from offline, the name of the publication)? Commons has a policy that all images should have a complete source in order for everyone else to be able to verify the copyright status (among other reasons). In this case, I can say that images found on NASA's website sometimes aren't actually free (e.g., images they use with permission from the author). Once you have provided the full URL, by all means remove the unsourced tag.
- I hope this clears things up; let me know if you have any other questions. Magog the Ogre (talk) (contribs) 02:34, 26 November 2013 (UTC)
