Deleted contents
[edit]
Hello Salma,
the following content you uploaded is not free and therefore has been or will soon be deleted:
- Image:Sweeneytodd2.jpg
The Wikimedia Commons (this website) only hosts media files which can be used for any purpose, including:
- use in any work, regardless of content
- creation of derivative works
- commercial use
- free distribution
See Commons:Licensing for the copyright policy on the Wikimedia Commons. Some other Wikimedia projects have different licensing policies. For example, the English Wikipedia allows fair use of sounds and photographs. This is not the case on the Wikimedia Commons: "fair use" materials are not acceptable here.
Please make sure that you only upload works you have created yourself, those which are out of copyright, or those for which you have the required permission for the work to be used in all the ways described above. Please note that derivative works of copyrighted material are also considered copyrighted. Again, please read through Commons:Licensing, which is quite crucial to understanding how the Wikimedia Commons works. Thanks for your contribution, and please do leave me a message if you have further questions. --dave pape 19:46, 14 January 2008 (UTC)
Hello, and thank your for sharing your files with Commons. There seems to be a problem regarding the description and/or licensing of this particular file. Please remember that all uploads require source, author and license information. Could you please resolve these problems, which are described on the page linked in above? You can edit the description page and change the text. Uploading a new version of the file does not change the description of the file. This page may give you more hints on which information may be missing. Thank you.

This image has been deleted because it was a low-resolution duplicate of Image:Virginia Tech Hokies take the field 2004 WMU.jpg. You also misrepresented the copyright status of this image, which is published under the terms of {{CC-by-sa}}, when you falsely claimed that it was in the public domain and that you were the author. Please note that it is a criminal offence to make fraudulent statements about the authorship and licensing of a copyrighted work. —LX (talk, contribs) 21:17, 14 January 2008 (UTC)
- Image:Toshiba.JPG was also a low-quality duplicate of Image:Toshiba logo.svg with incorrect authorship and copyright information. —LX (talk, contribs) 21:20, 14 January 2008 (UTC)

Image Tagging Image:K.J._Choi.jpg
[edit]
Thanks for uploading Image:K.J._Choi.jpg. I notice the image page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the media on Wikimedia Commons (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page. If the content is a derivative of a copyrighted work, you need to supply the names and a licence of the original authors as well.
If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag, then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then you can use {{self|GFDL|cc-by-sa-all}} to release it under the multilicense GFDL plus Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike All-version license or {{PD-self}} to release it into the public domain. See Commons:Copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have uploaded other media, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find all your uploads using the Gallery tool. Thank you. —LX (talk, contribs) 21:33, 14 January 2008 (UTC)
Authorship claims
[edit]
You have claimed to be the author of the files listed below. If you have uploaded a copyright violation and the copyright holder wishes to take legal action, you alone are legally responsible. The Mediawiki software keeps information about you which may be shared with lawyers.
Please help avoid unnecessary blocks and deletions by resolving this matter in one of the following ways:
- If the works are indeed your own, please upload high-resolution original files (rather than images scaled down to "web resolution") and clearly label the source of the files as being your own work. Again, you are solely responsible for such claims.
- If any of the files you have uploaded are not your own work despite your previous claims, please tag them with {{Copyvio}}, and they will be deleted by an administrator.
If your account is blocked, you will be temporarily unable to upload files to Commons. In the meantime, please read the licensing policy to make sure the content you upload is allowed. The duration of the block may depend on the number of files to be verified and the findings of the investigation. —LX (talk, contribs) 21:36, 14 January 2008 (UTC)

- In addition to this, the following copyright violations have been deleted: Image:DAVE KOZ N SMOKEY ROBINSON.JPG, Image:Johnny Depp 003.jpg, Image:Travelorlando.jpg, Image:K.J. Choi.jpg. Image:296104862 f3f14fac6a o.jpg is once again a copyright violation. You have been asked many times to stop uploading coypright violations. This is a warning right now, that the next block may be indefinite. Please pay attention to copyrights, and if you are unwilling to give more heed to our licensing requirements, please do not upload images at all. Patstuart (talk) 14:15, 25 February 2008 (UTC)
Please give images better names
[edit]
I noticed you've uploaded some images and I thought I should turn your attention to a common error.
Please give uploaded images meaningful names. Otherwise they are difficult to track and it is hard to tell what the image is about without actually looking at it. I suggest you rename each image with an intuitive name that describes the image itself. Thanks, and happy editing! Patstuart (talk) 14:53, 25 February 2008 (UTC)

Blocked indefinitely
[edit]This user has been blocked indefinitely. See block log.
(toolbox: contributions • page moves • current autoblocks)
Well, it looks like you chose to ignore all the warnings on your talk page and learned nothing from your previous one-week and one-month blocks, so this time, you're blocked indefinitely.
You claim that all your uploads are "Own work by uploader", yet you cite website URLs as the source. Finding images on the Internet does not make them your work. It does not make you their copyright holder. It does not give you the right to release other people's works into the public domain.
Although the source URLs are incomplete and do not point to the exact page the images were found on, I'm more inclined to believe that you took them from there than that you created them yourself, especially considering there is evidence that the images were taken with a wide range of different cameras.
Making fraudulent statements regarding the copyright status of other people's works is a criminal offense. You've been blocked to help you stop violating copyright laws. —LX (talk, contribs) 08:42, 24 June 2008 (UTC)
