Hi S.Varrot. I'm wondering if you can provide a little information about this photo. The file's description states it was taken in 1975 and it looks quite old, but obviously there was no Internet around back then so it's hard to check such a thing. Did you take this photo yourself? You've claimed that it's your own work, but "own work" generally means that the person uploading the file is the same person who took the original photo. This means you actually would've taken the photo back in 1975 and then uploaded it to Commons almost 45 years later.
If you didn't take the photo yourself, then did you find it somewhere online or in some old photo album, scan it and then upload it the Commons? The photo looks like it's been cropped from another different photo and then enlarged a bit to show Thévet. Is this photo a crop from another different photo that you took or that can be found online somewhere? Any further information you can provide about the origin of the photo and who took the photo would be helpful because photos whose sources or copyright statuses are unclear are sometimes deleted from Commons per the "precautionary principle". I'm not saying that this photo is absolutely going to be deleted, but when there is too much uncertainty about a photo, it is often deleted as a precaution. -- Marchjuly (talk) 21:53, 2 March 2020 (UTC)
File:Lucien Thévet.jpg has been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether it should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry.
If you created this file, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it, such as a copyright issue. Please see Commons:But it's my own work! for a guide on how to address these issues. |
