Anahim Volcanic Belt

[edit]

Hi Sémhur, just thought that I would point out an error on File:Anahim Volcanic Belt-en.svg. The Gale Passage and Bella Bella dike swarms are both treated as being 13 million years old, which is incorrect. On a map in this book (page 261) it says the Gale Passage swarm is 13 million years old and the Bella Bella swarm is 12 million years old. Also, your map of the Anahim Volcanic Belt does not include the King Island Pluton. According to this journal it is 10 million years old. A map of the pluton location can be found on page 899. Parcs naturels français de métropole

[edit]

Sylvainm86 (talk) 21:57, 31 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Round 2 of Picture of the Year 2015 is open!

[edit]

You are receiving this message because you voted in R1 of the 2015 Picture of the Year contest.

Dear Sémhur/Archives,

Wikimedia Commons is happy to announce that the second round of the 2015 Picture of the Year competition is now open. This year will be the tenth edition of the annual Wikimedia Commons photo competition, which recognizes exceptional contributions by users on Wikimedia Commons. Wikimedia users are invited to vote for their favorite images featured on Commons during the last year (2015) to produce a single Picture of the Year.

Hundreds of images that have been rated Featured Pictures by the international Wikimedia Commons community in the past year were entered in this competition. These images include professional animal and plant shots, breathtaking panoramas and skylines, restorations of historical images, photographs portraying the world's best architecture, impressive human portraits, and so much more.

There are two total rounds of voting. In the first round, you voted for as many images as you liked. In Round 1, there were 1322 candidate images. There are 56 finalists in Round 2, comprised of the top 30 overall as well as the top #1 and #2 from each sub-category. In the final round, you may vote for just one or maximal three image to become the Picture of the Year.

Round 2 will end on 28 May 2016, 23:59:59 UTC.

Bataille de Poitiers (1356)

[edit]

Bonjour,

Hi Sémhur, I am a bored bot (this is kind of a computer program) that is watching the recent changes and tapping buttons like I did now.

Curious about the reason? Possibly not but I will tell you anyway:

  1. You edited User:Sémhur/common.js. Glad to see you coding in javascript! Have you ever considered becoming a MediaWiki hacker?
  2. Though, that change appears to introduce 15 new jshint issues — the page's status is now having warnings. Note that invalid or ambiguous code often has unwanted side effects like breaking other tools for you. If you cannot find out how to fix it, I suggest blanking the page for now.
  3. To help you understanding where the issues are, I have aggregated a report here and now. If you have questions, don't hesitate to ask users experienced in javascript writing for help. But do not ask the bot's operators (chronically overwrought) unless you suspect an error of mine. If you prefer not getting spammed by me, you can opt-out reports by adding {{ValidationOptOut|type=all}} to your user page or cmb-opt-out anywhere on your your global user page on Meta. Good luck at Wikimedia Commons and happy hacking!

Signature of Bailly

[edit]
Signature of Jean Sylvain Bailly.

Dear user Sémhur, I'm Distico, an user from Italy. I want to contact you for a little, or at least I hope little, demand. I was wondering if you could do a work on this image at your right.

Do you remember your work on Lafayette's signature taken from that image? It's exactly the same. I would like you could change the image in question by turning it into a .svg version aesthetically more beautiful as you did with the Lafayette's signature. I thank you for the possible availability. --Distico (talk) 09:45, 2 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Distico, I will try, but I don't know when because I am very busy. And also, the picture is very small! Sémhur (talk) 21:51, 4 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Hi! If you want I can try to find a bigger image, ok? --Distico (talk) 21:54, 4 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I hope this can go although the definition is not very good. :) --Distico (talk) 13:53, 6 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Hello Distico, it's done : File:Signature Bailly 1790.svg. Sémhur (talk) 20:46, 8 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Derivative files of File:Parts of a shark.svg

[edit]

You have just declined a series of file moves that I requested that relate to File:Parts of a shark.svg.

The practice for SVG translations is to suffix the original filename with IETF langtag. See Help:Translation tutorial#Using a separate file. That practice would keep the related files together with only a small change to file name.

PS: There were two errors in my requests. First, a suffix should have been "es" rather than "en"; second, one file is a PNG rather than SVG.

Requête pour une carte géolocalisée

[edit]

Kintaro (talk) 21:48, 10 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Regions in Tanzania

[edit]

Dear Sémhur, would it be possible for you to draw a new version of File:Tanzania_Mbeya_location_map.svg and to add one of Songwe region? See here: In 2016, Songwe Region was created from the western part of Mbeya Region, including the districts of Ileje, Mbozi and Momba. Unfortunately the only source of the Songwe borders I could find was on this site, but you may have additional ones. Thanks! Fransvannes (talk) 19:57, 24 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Fransvannes: Ok, I'll add that to my task list. Sémhur (talk) 07:59, 25 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you! Fransvannes (talk) 20:59, 26 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Just to let you know that File:Tanzania Tabora location map.svg does not show the 2012 changes either (all others seem to do). And I didn't realize that all Tanzania region maps have to be updated for 2016 now, but I suppose you did... Fransvannes (talk) 19:53, 7 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Fransvannes: Is that good for you? Sémhur (talk) 19:30, 9 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
To be honest I don't know. this map shows different borders for Songwe region than yours (on the former there is a district north of the lake). Fransvannes (talk) 21:37, 18 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Fransvannes, I progress (see below), but I have to update all the regions now! Sémhur (talk) 20:29, 25 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you Sémhur! Fransvannes (talk) 12:35, 26 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Renommage photos des mairies d'arrondissement

[edit]

Merci d'avance. -- Rigoureux (talk) 13:38, 5 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Bonne soirée :) Pueblopassingby (talk) 20:55, 27 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hourra, ça marche en fr aussi ! Effectivement il fallait juste rebooter l'ordi. MER-CI !!! Pueblopassingby (talk) 19:22, 28 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Bonjour Sémhur.

[edit]

Merci! --Trecătorul răcit (talk) 12:24, 22 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Trecătorul răcit: ✓ Done. Sémhur (talk) 20:23, 22 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Sémhur: . Super, merci.

Cordialement, Laurent.

Hello, you created this template for a POTD, unfortunately the picture didn't correspond with the right mosque.
