RE: File:Star_Air_Service_LogoA.jpg I have never mastered all the complexities of the "File Source" rqmnts. I set this up with the help of one of your more expert users. As far as I can see all reqd info has been entered. If you want to rqst any additional info, I will be glad to respond, but I can't seem to find any helpful instructions by wading thru all the complex terminology. It would be to bad to delete this as it is a historic item, but there seems to be an ongoing effort to delete rather than enhance! — Preceding unsigned comment added by RoyDickson (talk • contribs) 15:37, 27 March 2011 (UTC)
- I'm sorry for any confusion. I just needed to know where you got the file! Right now it says "Jack Peck photo", but that really doesn't man anything to me. Can you elaborate on the page: did a friend take the photo and give it to you? Did you snap it yourself? Did you get it off the internet? That's all I'm looking for. Thanks for your time, and thanks for your patience in the whole issue. Magog the Ogre (talk) 04:08, 28 March 2011 (UTC)
MORE - 3/28/2011 - A person named JACK PECK took the photo about 80 years ago and gave the photo to LARS OPLAND of Wasilla, AK who collects Alaska Aviation memorabelia, photos, etc. LARS OPLAND has give me written permission to use the photo and to post it on Wikipedia. If you wish I can give you his email address. Let me know. Regards, Roy Dickson www.alaskabushpilot.org
- OK great. Could you do me a favor and if it's in email form, follow the instructions at Template:Image permission and forward the email to permissions-commons@wikimedia.org so that we have a record of the permission on file? Thanks. Magog the Ogre (talk) 15:54, 28 March 2011 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by RoyDickson (talk • contribs) 15:21, 28 March 2011 (UTC)
File tagging File:Star Air Service LogoA.jpg
[edit]This media may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading File:Star Air Service LogoA.jpg. This media is missing permission information. A source is given, but there is no proof that the author or copyright holder agreed to license the file under the given license. Please provide a link to an appropriate webpage with license information, or ask the author or copyright holder to send an email with copy of a written permission to VRT (permissions-commons@wikimedia.org). You may still be required to go through this procedure even if you are the author yourself; please see Commons:But it's my own work! for more details. After you emailed permission, you may replace the {{No permission since}} tag with {{subst:PP}} on file description page. Alternatively, you may click on "Challenge speedy deletion" below the tag if you wish to provide an argument why evidence of permission is not necessary in this case.
Please see this page for more information on how to confirm permission, or if you would like to understand why we ask for permission when uploading work that is not your own, or work which has been previously published (regardless of whether it is your own). Warning: unless the permission information is given, the file may be deleted after seven days. Thank you. |
