You wrote: "Facts: I am the owner of the original postcard. I made a scan of it." Being the owner of a copy of a postcard, or scanning a postcard, does not make you the author of that postcard. You did not tell anything about the real author, so how do you know that he/she died over 70 years ago? Castillo blanco (talk) 05:12, 15 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

You are right, Castillo, I am not the author of the postcard. However the postcard is mine. Postcard does not carry the photographer's name (impossibile to find out unless it is printed on the photo like in another photo I published in my essay about this artist); therefore for the 70 years deadline I took into consideration that the postcard's ownership belongs to Berardo Berardi, the person who is in the photo and possibily paid for the photo. Berardo Berardi died October 25th, 1918. --Robnic365 (talk) 05:45, 15 August 2019 (UTC)Robnic365 --Robnic365 (talk) 05:46, 15 August 2019 (UTC)Robnic365[reply]

The 70 years expiration is based on the date of death of the photographer, not on the date of death of the person in the photo. Castillo blanco (talk) 05:53, 15 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I confirm it is impossibile to find out who the photographer is. If any, in this kind of photos they stamp the name of the photo agency at that time. How is the problem solved with other artists' pages that are similar to this one? --Robnic365 (talk) 05:59, 15 August 2019 (UTC)Robnic365 With similar artist's photos they are writing: author unknown ---> https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Mattia_Battistini2.jpg --Robnic365 (talk) 06:01, 15 August 2019 (UTC)Robnic365[reply]

Author unknown will only work if the photo is old enough anyway. There is Template:PD-old-assumed, but this will only work if you can date the photo back to no later than 1899. Is there a date on the postcard? Castillo blanco (talk) 06:52, 15 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, there is a date on the photo which is: 21 luglio 1915 (July 21st, 1915). The photo I mentioned above is related to an opera singer who lived at the same time of my opera singer. Ineed the photo on the image is 1910. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Robnic365 (talk • contribs) 04:19, 19 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
