Thanks for the link. This is what I had in mind and hope this will be adopted in MediaWiki. But until it is, I think it's a good idea to enforce a policy so migration will be easier and our tools are able to understand the uploader. Michael's suggestion putting the categories elsewhere/ having a general system to split text is also not too bad. But this needs a big, good concept. I think file description pages shouldn't have been created like wiki pages from the beginning on. It always harms my brain when I see one category changed while I know that the whole new wikitext will be stored into the database. -- Rillke^(q?) 11:01, 13 October 2012 (UTC)
