First steps tutorial

Our first steps tour and our frequently asked questions will help you a lot after registration. They explain how to customize the interface (for example the language), how to upload files and our basic licensing policy (Wikimedia Commons only accepts free content).

You don't need technical skills in order to contribute here. Be bold when contributing and assume good faith when interacting with others. This is a wiki.

Getting help

More information is available at the community portal. You may ask questions at the help desk, village pump or on IRC channel #wikimedia-commons (webchat). You can also contact an administrator on their talk page. If you have a specific copyright question, ask at the copyright village pump.

Goodies, tips, and tricks
  • Put Babel boxes on your user page so others know what languages you can speak and indicate your graphic abilities.
  • You can find the files you have uploaded in your Uploads.
  • Please sign your name on Talk pages by typing ~~~~.
  • To link to an image page without embedding the image, type: [[:File:Foo.jpg]], which produces: File:Foo.jpg.
  • You may enable gadgets (custom features) for your account.
  • There are several tools to upload files.
  • Have you edited Wikipedia before? This guide might be useful.
Made a mistake?
  • Do you want to have a file renamed or moved? Use the move link and wait for an authorized user to rename it.
  • Do you want to have your recently uploaded picture removed? Tag it as {{speedy|reason here}}. For more information read the deletion guidelines.

Hallo RPP-Institut, Danke für deine schönen Uploads. Bei File:RPP Christoph Schönborn1.jpg fehlt aber der Lizenzbaustein. Da alle Datei laut EXF-Daten von ERNST ZERCHE stammen, benötigen wir eine Genehmigung des Fotografen, wobei er sich auch äussern sollte wie der Credit (z.B. (C) RPR-Institut oder © Ernst Zerche oder © Ernst Zerche für RPR-Institut) bei Nachnutzung aussehen sollte. Die kann pauschal alle seine hochgeladenen Fotos umfassen. Trotzdem ist er persönlich als Fotograf der Urheber und copyright-Halter, sofern das nicht im Arbeitsvertrag anders geregelt wurde. (einen Automatismus bzgl. des Urheberrechts von Mitarbeitern gibt es in Europa eigentlich nicht.) Das müsst ihr erstmal intern klären bzw. vereinbaren. Für uns ist nur wichtig, dass eine valide Genehmigung kommt. Da er nunmal in den EXIF-Daten drin steht, sollte sie auch von ihm kommen, z.B. von seinem Instituts-Emailkonto. Wie der Credit (also das, was Nachnutzer angeben müssen) aussehen soll, könnt ihr ja gemeinsam vereinbaren; er sollte es dann aber in seine Genehmigungsemail schreiben.--Túrelio (talk) 15:49, 13 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, er wird an commons ein Email schicken und klarstellen, dass der Account "RPP-Institut" alle seine Photos auf den RPP-Tagungen auf commons stellen darf. Passt das dann?--RPP-Institut (talk) 16:08, 13 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Habt ihr bei den jüngsten Uploads absichtlich von CC-BY-SA auf CC-Zero gewechselt oder war das ein Versehen? Ich würde Portraits lebender Personen nie unter CC-Zero oder PD stellen. --Túrelio (talk) 19:04, 14 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Ähem, wenn ihr die nicht so gut versteht, warum nehmt ihr dann auch noch verschiedene? CC-Zero entspricht ungefähr public-domain (gemeinfrei), d.h. der Urheber verzichtet praktisch auf jegliche Kontrolle über das Bild und auch darauf, als Urheber genannt zu werden. CC-BY-SA ist m.E. der beste Kompromiss zwischen (recht) freier Lizenz und einem gewissen Minimum an Kontrolle des Urhebers über sein Werk.
Ergo 4 verschiedene Lizenzen, warum? Ich würde euch für alle Bilder {{Cc-by-sa-3.0-at}} empfehlen, weil die auf die österreich. Gesetzgebung portiert (angepasst) ist. --Túrelio (talk) 19:23, 14 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hallo RPP-Institut, ich bin nach der Diskussion, die hier bereits stattgefunden hat, nicht sicher, ob es sich bereits erledigt hat: Auf der Seite https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Qualit%C3%A4tssicherung/15._Mai_2018#Thomas_Fuchs_(Psychiater) wurde eine mögliche URV angemahnt.
