Copyright status: File:Buranovskiye Babushki at ESC 2012.jpg
[edit]This media may be deleted. |
Thanks for uploading File:Buranovskiye Babushki at ESC 2012.jpg. I notice that the file page either doesn't contain enough information about the license or it contains contradictory information about the license, so the copyright status is unclear.
If you created this file yourself, then you must provide a valid copyright tag. For example, you can tag it with {{self|GFDL|cc-by-sa-all}} to release it under the multi-license GFDL plus Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike All-version license or you can tag it with {{PD-self}} to release it into the public domain. (See Commons:Copyright tags for the full list of license tags that you can use.) If you did not create the file yourself or if it is a derivative of another work that is possibly subject to copyright protection, then you must specify where you found it (e.g. usually a link to the web page where you got it), you must provide proof that it has a license that is acceptable for Commons (e.g. usually a link to the terms of use for content from that page), and you must add an appropriate license tag. If you did not create the file yourself and the specific source and license information is not available on the web, you must obtain permission through the VRT system and follow the procedure described there. Note that any unsourced or improperly licensed files will be deleted one week after they have been marked as lacking proper information, as described in criteria for deletion. If you have uploaded other files, please confirm that you have provided the proper information for those files, too. If you have any questions about licenses please ask at Commons:Village pump/Copyright or see our help pages. Thank you. |

- I created this file myself and I modified the license for it. Is it all right now ? Purice21 (talk) 09:50, 16 July 2012 (UTC)
- When you say you created it yourself, please explain how? You have listed the source as "own work" and it doesn't look much like own work, unless you were at the event yourself and close up to the stage to obtain the photo. The image is too clear to have been a photo of the television screen. It also looks near identical to photos owned by the EBU, which if you've copied and declaring the work as your own would be a serious breach of copyright laws. Wesley☀Mouse 22:53, 16 July 2012 (UTC)

- Ahh if it is a capture from a television screen, then it is a serious copyright violation. As you have copied footage that belongs to the EBU and is protected under copyright, including screenshots. You seriously need to be careful of things like that, so that you don't end up getting yourself into serious legal trouble and/or blocked from Wikipedia. I am going to have to report the image though as a copyright violation, I'm sorry. Wesley Mouse 14:59, 17 July 2012 (UTC)
- Attending the event in 2013 personally and obtaining photos is perfectly fine as they would be your own work. But the worrying matter here is that you have uploaded several other images too which you have stated are your own work, and after checks it has been proven that you don't own the work, and that you have copied images which are protected under copyright laws, in order to create new versions. This is a serious breach of copyright violations and may impede serious sanctions beyond my control. Perhaps you should take time to familiarise yourself with the copyright policies before uploading any new images. Wesley Mouse 20:38, 17 July 2012 (UTC)
