Cropping pictures

I have no idea what drives people like you, but I am a photographer and cropping tiny heads out of pictures that are not in the focus area of the camera is disrespectful and insults my work. --Ailura (talk) 08:25, 17 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I'm sorry that you feel that way and I'll make sure never to crop one of your photos again. Feel free to report the cropped version for speedy-deletion if you think it insults your work. In my view the main purpose of having photos in biographical articles is the identification of the person and this is easier achieved when the photo is cropped only to show the person in question (especially when there are a lot of people in the photo like in your relay photo). I agree that in some cases I might have pushed it a bit too far with only the head visible but I only did so if no better photo of a given person was available.
