Our first steps help file and our FAQ will help you a lot after registration. They explain how to customize the interface (for example the language), how to upload files and our basic licensing policy. You don't need technical skills in order to contribute here. Be bold contributing here and assume good faith for the intentions of others. This is a wiki ‒ it is really easy. More information is available at the Community Portal. You may ask questions at the Help desk, Village Pump or on IRC channel #wikimedia-commons (direct access). You can also contact an administrator on their talk page. If you have a specific copyright question, ask at Commons talk:Licensing. |

A problem with this image is that the letters k-b-r in "Akbar" don't join together... AnonMoos 11:24, 29 March 2008 (UTC)
- Whare exactly do you mean? Down-Left of the "S" symbol? Only that part I wasn't sure about, but I copied it from flag images. 62.163.232.175 03:58, 9 April 2008 (UTC)
- There isn't any Arabic letter "s" in that flag. Look at Image:Flag_of_Iraq.svg for example. There are many different Arabic script styles, but in just about all of them the letters "k"-b"-"r" of Akbar would be joined together into a single unit (without spaces separating them)... Hello, and thank your for sharing your files with Commons. There seems to be a problem regarding the description and/or licensing of this particular file. Please remember that all uploads require source, author and license information. Could you please resolve these problems, which are described on the page linked in above? You can edit the description page and change the text. Uploading a new version of the file does not change the description of the file. This page may give you more hints on which information may be missing. Please note that if you won't provide a valid license in 7 days your image will be deleted and if you upload a lot of images without licenses you may be blocked from editing wikimedia-commons. Thank you.

It's a stretch to call it "PD-Ineligible"... AnonMoos 02:02, 24 April 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for this. Any chance you could add some labels to it? As it stands on en:Caucasus Emirate it's hard to know what's going on if you're not already familiar with the area in question. -- Earle Martin (talk) 11:05, 5 August 2008 (UTC)
- Sure, I'll try to update it soon, as well as make a new map. Pietervhuis (talk) 03:27, 9 October 2008 (UTC)

Hello Peter593022!
Thank you for providing images to Wikimedia Commons. Please keep in mind that images uploaded to Commons should be useful to all users of Wikimedia projects. This is possible only if the images can be found by other people.
To allow others to find the images you uploaded here, the images should be in some place that can be found by navigating the category structure. This means that you should put the images into appropriate topic pages, categories, optionally galleries, or both of them (see Commons:Categories). To find good categories for your images, the CommonSense tool may help.
You can find a convenient overview of your uploaded files in this gallery.
The important point is that the images should be placed in the general structure somewhere. There are a large number of completely unsorted images on Commons right now. If you would like to help to place some of those images where they can be found, please do!
