[edit]While I love your images I do question your categorising. Is File:StJohnAmbulance.jpg really in the right spot in Category:Claremont House, Claremont Park, Surrey, as just one example of a quite a few I fixed up over the last couple of month. Calistemon (talk) 14:14, 5 January 2021 (UTC)
Ooooo many thanks Calistemon I am pretty new to uploading images and was not aware that these categories were being added automatically. Really appreciate the fix and will try to make sure I follow your example from now on. --PerthDeco (talk)
just looking at the File:StJohnAmbulance.jpg history I see that the categories and some other data was changed by RussBot and someone else. Do I have to monitor all my pics and undo those changes when they occur? --PerthDeco (talk) 02:31, 9 January 2021 (UTC)
- It pays to check if the category is unfamiliar to you, as it might be a redirect, as is Category:Claremont, which the bot redirected to Category:Claremont House, Claremont Park, Surrey. The point here could be made that is should be a disambiguation page, like Category:Perth. In the case of Category:Guildford, which I changed to Category:Guildford, Western Australia, as general rule with few exceptions, all WA places have Western Australia in the name. Over- or undercategorisation should also be considered. For example, File:MasonicHall130GuildfordRoad202009.jpg, which is in Category:Art Deco architecture in Western Australia should not be in Category:Art Deco as well as the former is already a sub-category. Category:Masonic, on the other hand, doesn't even exist. It takes a bit to get used to and its easy to make mistakes, I still do all the time. Just keep your images on your watchlist and, when you see an edit on it, have a look as to what it was about. That is all I can suggest. Keep up the great work of uploading the images!
