Hi Pattedyr, your image above does not show cornflower (Centaurea cyanus), but some different kind of Centaurea species with much narrower and more slender shapes of the showy tubular flowers in the flower head. As you can see, Centaurea scabiosa resembles much more your image than Centaurea cyanus, which does not mean that you photograph must show this species. There is no way for a positive identification here because the plant was photographed in a botanical garden and because no leaves are visible.
