Please sign your name on Talk pages by typing ~~~~. To link to an image page without embedding the image, type: [[:File:Foo.jpg]], which produces: File:Foo.jpg. You may enable gadgets (custom features) for your account. There are several tools to upload files. Have you edited Wikipedia before? This guide might be useful. Made a mistake? Do you want to have a file renamed or moved? Use the move link and wait for an authorized user to rename it. Do you want to have your recently uploaded picture removed? Tag it as {{speedy|reason here}}. For more information read the deletion guidelines.

Leakage Flux arrows in Transformer flux preliminary mod.gif

I was in the process of drawing a vector version of Transformer flux preliminary mod.gif and noticed that the Leakage flux arrows on the left side are both clockwise while one of those on the right is pointing clockwise and the other is counter clockwise. Is this intentionsal - it does not seem symmetric or logical. Not being an electric engineer I am a little unsure but I suspect that the Leakage flux arrow to the right of center should be up so that both flux directions are clockwise.

By the way such diagrams are better in vector format and Inkscape is a great program with which to do that.

Wow, you are quick! Good call on the flux arrows. I uploaded a preliminary drawing to show another user that it's possible to reverse the spiral direction on the right side winding, which also flipped the arrow as you saw. I have since corrected the drawing and I'm trying to figure out how to replace the old one. Do I need a new filename? Overjive (talk) 07:33, 19 August 2011 (UTC)

I uploaded my fixed diagram and called it Transformer_flux_leakage.gif. Feel free to improve it. The flux dashes on the right side are perhaps minor flaws. Thanks for the drawing tips! Overjive (talk) 08:13, 19 August 2011 (UTC)

I nominated "Transformer flux preliminary mod.gif" for deletion since the arrows are wrong. I replaced the drawing on this page with my fixed one, so that there will be no references to the version to be deleted. I hope I'm doing this right. Overjive (talk) 09:24, 19 August 2011 (UTC)
