zu Fotowettbewerb: 2021 – Januar – Darkness

[edit]

New versions

[edit]

Hi Original.jeremy.g! If you modify images to an extent that as you have done in several cases 1 2 etc., please do not upload as new image on the original...

As a brand new image upload

  • is the best if you give the same filename with the "comment" for example The oroginal filename of image variation from Original jeremy g.jpg,
These below are important!! because they are the part of the cc-licences
  • as source you give the original file as link
- Exemplare so: {{ Derived from | Example.jpg | display = 16 }} this gives: This file was derived from: Example.jpg
  • as author you give the original author + edited by Original.jeremy.g
- Exemplare so: {{Author|original|3= User:Example}} {{Author|derivative|3=User:Original.jeremy.g}} this gives: Original: User:Example Derivative work: User:Original.jeremy.g

Then you can give by the original file your work as other versions (Exemplare with {{ Derivative versions | File:Example.jpg | by = User:Original.jeremy.g }} gives: Derivative works of this file:  Example.jpg by User:Original.jeremy.g

Have a good time on Commons, Fauvirt (talk) 16:33, 7 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Please don't produce this kind of trash (it is unfair to persons and they are redundant server loads), but if you feel you have to do it, upload it as a new file as I described here... Fauvirt (talk) 00:22, 12 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not overwrite files

I noticed that you uploaded a file using the name File:Ben Veltman September 2011.jpg. A file by this name already existed on Commons. Overwriting an existing file should not be done except when making minor, uncontroversial corrections, so the file has been restored to its previous version. If the file that you attempted to upload is within our project scope and is in the public domain or published under a free license, please upload it again under a different name. Thank you. For more information, please see Commons:Overwriting files.

Pay attention to copyright
File:Sahit Kandić während des Kosovokrieges 1998-1999.jpg has been marked as a possible copyright violation. Wikimedia Commons only accepts free content—that is, images and other media files that can be used by anyone, for any purpose. Traditional copyright law does not grant these freedoms, and unless noted otherwise, everything you find on the web is copyrighted and not permitted here. For details on what is acceptable, please read Commons:Licensing. You may also find Commons:Copyright rules useful, or you can ask questions about Commons policies at the Commons:Help desk. If you are the copyright holder and the creator of the file, please read Commons:But it's my own work! for tips on how to provide evidence of that.

The file you added has been deleted. If you have written permission from the copyright holder, please have them send us a free license release via COM:VRT. If you believe that the deletion was not in accordance with policy, you may request undeletion. (It is not necessary to request undeletion if using VRT; the file will be automatically restored at the conclusion of the process.)

Warning: Wikimedia Commons takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

Comment on past behavior

[edit]

Hello everyone.

From my current point of view, I can see that back when I was overwriting images with overly edited versions, which actually decreased the overall visual appeal, I did not have a proper grasp of the community guidelines regarding the overwriting of images on Commons, which have changed a lot since then.

I want to say sorry for what I have done, and I want to apologize for the hassle that I have caused. I can assure you that I will pay closer attention to the community guidelines from now on and I will not repeat my mistakes.

I hope that this can be taken into consideration and I want to thank you all for your patience and understanding. Jeremy (talk) 19:15, 12 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

File:NoHugs Chapter IV Patchmoon Crewneck Lost Lilith patch.jpg has been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether it should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry.

If you created this file, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it, such as a copyright issue. Please see Commons:But it's my own work! for a guide on how to address these issues.

Please remember to respond to and – if appropriate – contradict the arguments supporting deletion. Arguments which focus on the nominator will not affect the result of the nomination. Thank you!
