Hello, and thank your for sharing your files with Commons. There seems to be a problem regarding the description and/or licensing of this particular file. Please remember that all uploads require source, author and license information. Could you please resolve these problems, which are described on the page linked in above? Thank you.

Image:SPQR_flag.png has been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether it should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry.
If you created this image, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it, such as a copyright issue. If the file is up for deletion because it has been superseded by a superior derivative of your work, consider the notion that although the file may be deleted, your hard work (which we all greatly appreciate) lives on in the new file.
In all cases, please do not take the deletion request personally. It is never intended as such. Thank you!
The reason why it didn't work is that the SVG referenced an image on your local hard drive, "D:\My Pictures\Flags & CoA\Alternative & Fictional Flags\Eurasia\רוסיה\New USSR.png". -- AnonMoos09:19, 6 September 2007 (UTC)
You should be aware that the legal aspects of first releasing something into the public domain, then subsequently attempting to retract to a more restrictive license, are quite dubious. AnonMoos22:00, 1 October 2007 (UTC)
Public domain is the absence of copyright, but the current tagging asserts copyright. I'm not going to edit the flag image description pages over this matter, but you should be aware that someone who chose to ignore the attribution requirement could point to the edit history of those pages, with every probability of prevailing in a court of law... AnonMoos10:55, 2 October 2007 (UTC)
This is a messy and apparently automatically-generated SVG, which is not much of an improvement over the PNG at all. There's not much point in uploading an SVG which reproduces all the minute color defects of the original PNG... AnonMoos09:25, 10 October 2007 (UTC)
Well i'm doing my Best here, so i'm sorry it's doesn't meet your standards... it is my maximal way i could've create a valid svg file. and since i don't have any Adobe Illustrator or Photoshop and just use Inkscape and a new software called VectorEye3... there wasn't much more i could've done... Thanks for uploading Image:Khomeini Portrait.jpg. I notice the image page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the media on Wikimedia Commons (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page. If the content is a derivative of a copyrighted work, you need to supply the names and a licence of the original authors as well.
If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag, then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then you can use {{self|cc-by-sa-3.0}} to release it under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike license or {{PD-self}} to release it into the public domain. See Commons:Copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have uploaded other media, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find all your uploads using the Gallery tool. Thank you. Just thought I'd give you a heads up that I nominated a bunch of royal flags at List of British flags for speedy deletion because you were named in some of the file descriptions. A lot of them came straight from http://flags.net/UNKG02.htm, and even the ones that have been converted to SVG are still copyright violations, because the design didn't really change. There were some where the Scottish corner wasn't the same, but I don't think it matters. I think most of them are tagged as public domain, and that's about as far away from the truth as it can get. I'm not sure where in the process you got involved, but I thought I'd give you a heads up. Ipankonin09:24, 29 October 2007 (UTC)
Done, I think it is correct now. I've rendered the text as a path, otherwise commons rendering engine can't properly render hebrew fonts. I've also changed the crown, to make more like the one you've linked to my talk page. Cheers, F l a n k e r00:06, 20 December 2007 (UTC)
p.s. i wish that this flag will get the same treatment just like in the case of Prince of Wales Standard.svg which was at first candidate for deletion for the obvious reason that it was a copyvio of the original flag at the FOTW website. i think this is the same kind of case here, and so since this flag is already a copyleft version than there is no reason for deleting it. trata de retrasar las letras, es decir de dibujaras como si fueran objetos. algunos programas te dan la opcion "outline text". eso te permite que la computadora no dependa de la "fuente" del texto y siempre se muestre igual en todos lados -LadyofHats03:22, 21 December 2007 (UTC)
I was unable to view the SVG file, and i thought that something must be wrong with it because all other SVG file are perfectly viewable on my computer, so i rebuilt it.
Nno no, I was asking just because the file looking the same to me. Concerning your problem viewing the image: have you tried to delete your browser chache? Because I view the image perfectly just like the others SVG. --F l a n k e r17:20, 28 January 2008 (UTC)

Hola Oren neu dag. Creo sinceramente que la vectorización que has hecho del escudo es muy buena. Felicidades por el trabajo. Un saludo, --Rodriguillo17:19, 22 February 2008 (UTC)

Careful, that logo may be copyright. One was just deleted but I can't get a straight answer from the Republican National Party. - Rocket00018:27, 6 March 2008 (UTC)

thank you for your effort, it is greatly appreciated. Looking at the original, I would say 1) the different parts of the Coa need to be bordered better with a thin dark line I would say, because at the moment the red of the Lorraine and the Austrian Coa is fused together. 2) The more difficult part is the lion. As you can see by the png image, the Habsburg lion almost completely fills out his part, basically touching the borders. The lion should thus be larger. Feel free to write to me again, thank you. Cheers. I'll put up an ifc if that is ok with you then, in order to alert other users to help out. But it's a start, thanks. Gryffindor21:27, 17 March 2008 (UTC)

I've found that Image:Flag of Pasdaran.svg has "images.google.com" in its description. The images uploaded on Wikimedia Commons should always have a free license, explicitly given by the copyright holder. If you have the permission, send it to our OTRS system or the image will be deleted! This is an automatic message by Filbot.--Filnik23:11, 24 June 2008 (UTC)
