British Rail Class 67 number 67029
[edit]Hi. First off, to the best of my knowledge, this is the only modern UK loco/MU to have its own category. Secondly, please don't pull such images out of British Rail Class 67s in English, Welsh and Scottish Railway corporate livery - liveries change, especially given EWS doesn't exist anymore it's silly to put it in there and assume that the train will be in that livery forever. In fact, this week's RAIL has a photo of it repainted into DB livery, so... -mattbuck (Talk) 22:39, 16 March 2012 (UTC)
Hi, is there any reason why this image is so light? – JBarta (talk) 23:36, 27 March 2012 (UTC)
- Same as the source : http://www.openstreetmap.org/ ...Oranjblud (talk) 00:00, 28 March 2012 (UTC)
- Ok, makes sense. It's quite light (almost illegible IMO) and I was going to darken/brighten it, but figured I'd ask first. Nevermind, carry on. – JBarta (talk) 00:27, 28 March 2012 (UTC)
Wood versus Forest
[edit]Why do you keep moving Category:Skipton Wood (amongst others) to Category:Forests in North Yorkshire? It is not a forest, it is a wood. I have reverted your change again. --JD554 (talk) 13:50, 4 May 2012 (UTC)
- Relative size (woods are smaller than forests) and common sense. Skipton Wood most certainly isn't a forest. The en wiki article sums it up nicely: "Woodland is used in British woodland management to mean any smaller area covered in trees, however dense. (Forest is usually used in the British Isles only for more extensive wooded areas, again, regardless of density – and also including Royal forests, which may not be wooded at all). The term Ancient Woodland is used in British nature conservation to refer to any wooded land that has existed for a very long period (equivalent to the American term old growth forest)." --JD554 (talk) 14:05, 4 May 2012 (UTC)
