Signpost recordings

I've cleaned up the file description pages for you. Please format your future uploads like them.
I'm somewhat concerned about this WikiCast project of yours... if you intend to run an entirely seperate site, why are you uploading the material to Commons? I think it would be a good idea to put some sort of explanation on your user page describing what your plans are.

Thanks for helping me out on the template – I wasn't quite sure how to use it. I'm doing the recordings for the Wikicast project which is still in alpha development and hasn't been endorsed by the foundation as of yet, but it does have a focus on free content, which is why we are using the commons to post our material for now. If you have any further questions check out #wikicast on Freenode IRC or visit the Wikicast mini-wiki at http://www.bitshuffle.org/wikicast/Main_Page. P.S. I am aware of Spoken Wikipedia, which is where I started before moving on to the Wikicast project. I didn't create a user page explaining all this because I already have one over at Wikipedia, though admittedly it doesn't mention Wikicast. I suppose I'm just lazy. :)

The Wikipedia signpost (on WP) is GFDL? The recordings of CC-By-SA? Can you clarify why this is so? ShakespeareFan00 17:17, 19 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I prefer the Creative Commons licensing structure because it is easier to understand, and I want to encourage its use (hence the SA designation). If you need me to give permission for any other kind of use, let me know. --Omaryak 05:31, 2 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Because the original Signpost material is GFDL, derivatives would also have to be GFDL, according to the terms and spirit of that licence. It would be VERY much appreaciated if this minor issue could be resolved. As you will probably note, Singpost is being recorded again, perhaps you would be willing to assist the new version (albiet as GFDL)? --ShakespeareFan00 20:35, 4 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Good point. I've made the necessary changes. I am glad to hear that someone else has picked up recording the Signpost since I have lacked time for it while trying to finish up my college degree. I'll be moving soon for an internship as well, so I don't know how much time I'll have to commit to the project. And if I do end up having spare time to record, Wikinews' and Wikipedia's spoken projects are calling to me as well. But I will always keep the Signpost in mind, and Wikicast as well.
