File:Humanities Truck at 2018 Adams Morgan Dat.jpg has been marked as a possible copyright violation. Wikimedia Commons only accepts free content—that is, images and other media files that can be used by anyone, for any purpose. Traditional copyright law does not grant these freedoms, and unless noted otherwise, everything you find on the web is copyrighted and not permitted here. For details on what is acceptable, please read Commons:Licensing. You may also find Commons:Copyright rules useful, or you can ask questions about Commons policies at the Commons:Help desk. If you are the copyright holder and the creator of the file, please read Commons:But it's my own work! for tips on how to provide evidence of that.
The file you added may soon be deleted. If you have written permission from the copyright holder, please replace the copyvio tag with {{subst:OP}} and have them send us a free license release via COM:VRT. If you disagree that the file is a copyright violation for any other reason, please replace the copyvio tag with a regular deletion request.

- I took the photograph. I work with the Humanities Truck, which is mentioned on my user page. You will see in the EXIF data "Julie Hawks" is the artist. If you go to the Humanities Truck site http://humanitiestruck.com/people/ you will see me listed as staff. Also, when uploading the photo, I marked the box that stated the work was mine.

- Hi Julie, welcome here on the Commons! I believe that you're right, but every time an image has been published previously somewhere before uploading it here the thing becomes a bit more complicated. The reason is: Accounts are in fact anonymous ones, i. e. I could for example have created an account named "Julie Hawks". If I then had uploaded your image without your permission that were an unacceptable action of course. So we need a kind of proof, which is called OTRS. On that page you'll find some more information. In short: We need an e-mail from (important!) a humanitiestruck.com mail address confirming that you/they agree (see Commons:OTRS and Commons:Email templates). Please refer to File:Humanities Truck at 2018 Adams Morgan Dat.jpg so our volunteers can assign the e-mail to the image. Leave me a note when you have sent that mail, and I can undelete the image. I know, the whole procedure is quite cumbersome and I don't like it too, but every month we have to delete hundreds of images that have been stolen from the web.
