Hi MusicRow, did you really shoot the original photography shown on File:SkipVanWinkle1971.jpg? --Túrelio (talk) 00:22, 15 January 2012 (UTC)
- No, but he gave the photo back then..have you found one like it?
- The problem is that the depicted musician will hardly also be the photographer. But it's usually the photographer who holds the copyright. The photographer was likely paid for use of the image on fan cards etc., but hardly also for the distribution under a free license, which is altogether different.
- I assume the same is true for File:Strutt Band1982.jpg, File:SkipVanWinkleband1972.jpg, File:Mandrell86Schafer.jpg and File:MandrellDo Rites86.jpg, isn't it? --Túrelio (talk) 00:42, 15 January 2012 (UTC)
no, sir...the struttband shot was taken against a wall in a club, by non professional..the Mandrell shots were taken by my brother at a show. You can see those are not 'pro'..the skip band shots were done with a timer by the drummer..the skip solo shot photographer is unknown..unless the drummer took that shot also..He is or was not a professional photographer
- Being "a professional photographer" is not relevant for copyright. Animals can't hold copyright, but any human does. Though I doubt that these uploads can stay on Commons, you should correct your wrong claims of own authorship (scanning doesn't make you the author) but adding all available information about the photographer and also add the location (country) where the shots were taken, as this may also influence the length of copyright. --Túrelio (talk) 00:58, 15 January 2012 (UTC)
