File:David Wijnkoop.jpg has been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether it should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry.
If you created this file, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. Thanks for uploading File:Status iucn3.1 yi.png. I notice that the file page either doesn't contain enough information about the license or it contains contradictory information about the license, so the copyright status is unclear.
If you created this file yourself, then you must provide a valid copyright tag. For example, you can tag it with {{self|GFDL|cc-by-sa-all}} to release it under the multi-license GFDL plus Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike All-version license or you can tag it with {{self|cc-zero}} to release it into the public domain. (See Commons:Copyright tags for the full list of license tags that you can use.) If you did not create the file yourself or if it is a derivative of another work that is possibly subject to copyright protection, then you must specify where you found it (e.g. usually a link to the web page where you got it), you must provide proof that it has a license that is acceptable for Commons (e.g. usually a link to the terms of use for content from that page), and you must add an appropriate license tag. If you did not create the file yourself and the specific source and license information is not available on the web, you must obtain permission through the VRT system and follow the procedure described there. Note that any unsourced or improperly licensed files will be deleted one week after they have been marked as lacking proper information, as described in criteria for deletion. If you have uploaded other files, please confirm that you have provided the proper information for those files, too. If you have any questions about licenses please ask at Commons:Village pump/Copyright or see our help pages. Thank you. |

Thanks for uploading File:Logo of the "vote or lose" campaign.jpg. This media is missing permission information. A source is given, but there is no proof that the author or copyright holder agreed to license the file under the given license. Please provide a link to an appropriate webpage with license information, or ask the author or copyright holder to send an email with copy of a written permission to VRT (permissions-commons@wikimedia.org). You may still be required to go through this procedure even if you are the author yourself; please see Commons:But it's my own work! for more details. After you emailed permission, you may replace the {{No permission since}} tag with {{subst:PP}} on file description page. Alternatively, you may click on "Challenge speedy deletion" below the tag if you wish to provide an argument why evidence of permission is not necessary in this case.
Please see this page for more information on how to confirm permission, or if you would like to understand why we ask for permission when uploading work that is not your own, or work which has been previously published (regardless of whether it is your own). The file probably has been deleted. If you sent a permission, try to send it again after 14 days. Do not re-upload. When the VRT-member processes your mail, the file can be undeleted. Additionally you can request undeletion here, providing a link to the File-page on Commons where it was uploaded ([[:File:Logo of the "vote or lose" campaign.jpg]] ) and the above demanded information in your request. |

File:Портрет 2-го президента України Леоніда Кучми.jpg has been marked as a possible copyright violation. Wikimedia Commons only accepts free content—that is, images and other media files that can be used by anyone, for any purpose. Traditional copyright law does not grant these freedoms, and unless noted otherwise, everything you find on the web is copyrighted and not permitted here. For details on what is acceptable, please read Commons:Licensing. You may also find Commons:Copyright rules useful, or you can ask questions about Commons policies at the Commons:Help desk. If you are the copyright holder and the creator of the file, please read Commons:But it's my own work! for tips on how to provide evidence of that.
The file you added has been deleted. If you have written permission from the copyright holder, please have them send us a free license release via COM:VRT. If you believe that the deletion was not in accordance with policy, you may request undeletion. (It is not necessary to request undeletion if using VRT; the file will be automatically restored at the conclusion of the process.)

― Tartan357 Talk 23:50, 11 June 2022 (UTC)
- Forgive me for perhaps misunderstanding, but would this file not be permitted for re-use on the same basis as File:Портрет 3-го президента України Віктора Ющенка.jpeg? That is, the fact that it comes from the Government of Ukraine, which adheres to professional editing standards, thus allowing consent to be reasonably inferred?
- Mupper-san (talk) 00:24, 12 June 2022 (UTC)
- Consent assessments are not licenses. Those refer to whether an identifiable person in a photograph intended for their likeness to be shared. Licenses come from the photographer. You indicated the image you uploaded was licensed under CC-BY-SA 4.0. I looked on the link you provided, and that website says "all rights reserved". I do not see CC-BY-SA 4.0. The Yushchenko photo comes from a website that includes a CC-BY 4.0 license. ― Tartan357 Talk 03:09, 12 June 2022 (UTC)

Round 1 of Picture of the Year 2022 voting is open!
[edit]
Read this message in your language
Dear Wikimedian,
Wikimedia Commons is happy to announce that the 2022 Picture of the Year competition is now open. This year will be the seventeenth edition of the annual Wikimedia Commons photo competition, which recognizes exceptional contributions by users on Wikimedia Commons. Wikimedia users are invited to vote for their favorite images featured on Commons during the last year (2022) to produce a single Picture of the Year.
Hundreds of images that have been rated Featured Pictures by the international Wikimedia Commons community in the past year are all entered in this competition. These images include professional animal and plant shots, breathtaking panoramas and skylines, restorations of historical images, photographs portraying the world's best architecture, impressive human portraits, and so much more.
For your convenience, we have sorted the images into topical categories. Two rounds of voting will be held: In the first round, you may vote for as many images as you like. The top 30 overall and the two most popular images in each category will continue to the final. In the final round, you may vote for just three images to become the Picture of the Year.
Round 1 will end on UTC.
Thanks,
the Wikimedia Commons Picture of the Year committee
You are receiving this message because you voted in the 2021 Picture of the Year contest.

Conscription map
[edit]Hello. Can you check that map on conscription article, I havent see any source about Kazakstan and Moldova plan to abolish it, they wanted before also but nothing. And anyway we dont here report about possible future events, as also happened before to nothing happen from that plans. Thank you. 178.223.221.105 07:53, 24 April 2023 (UTC)
- Decided to join and reverted map to your edit, future eventual planned events are not for maps on wikipedia, especially as there were plans before and nothing happened. When something happen then to go to map is ok. Žaremađija (talk) 08:24, 24 April 2023 (UTC)
- Žaremađija i suppose you are the same user with the ip. There was one reliable source, the International Institute for Strategic Studies: Military Balance 2023 book, if you object it ok. The saying that some plan eventually altered is not an argument, the category exists long enough for example when there is a voted law or official announcement with a future date to get into force. Mupper-san, with your permission Gomoloko (talk) 23:56, 24 April 2023 (UTC)
- Though I can't say with certainty what the rules are on Wikimedia Commons, on Wikipedia (where the map is most likely to be used) it is important to note WP:CRYSTAL (or "Wikipedia is not a Crystal Ball"), which states that "Individual scheduled or expected future events should be included only if the event is notable and almost certain to take place." Moldovan and Kazakh plans to abolish conscription were made under prior governments, in previous legislatures, and existed for several years without any progress being made. I think that it is better, generally, to act similarly to other maps, such as on same-sex marriage, where only things which are actually adopted are included. I say this because little movement was actually made in cases of Taiwan, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, and Moldova, all nations which previously were under "planning to abolish conscription".
- Mupper-san (talk) 00:31, 25 April 2023 (UTC)
- I mostly agree, i would also add the case of a voted law with a noted date to take effect. As it happened for example in Germany in 2011 etc Gomoloko (talk) 00:47, 25 April 2023 (UTC)
- Yes, I agree on this case, but in that case it should simply be added to the respective categories, rather than having a small section for those certain cases.

[edit]Do you think you could find and vectorise the logo for this party? The logo hasn't been on Wikipedia since the page was created. ValenciaThunderbolt (talk) 12:35, 27 September 2024 (UTC)
- Hi,
- Doing a cursory search, I couldn't find much of anything in terms of a logo besides their flag. The closest things I can find are this (the image of the globe) and this. I don't know Japanese well enough to understand what the text on the first one is, so it might be wrong, but according to Google Translate on the second one, it's a member pin badge, so it might be able to work.

- Unfortunately, I can't see those images as I'm in the UK. However, I trust your judgment :) ValenciaThunderbolt (talk) 11:28, 29 September 2024 (UTC)
- Could you upload a new version of the SDP logo, as the colour seems to have changed at some point. ValenciaThunderbolt (talk) 18:09, 29 September 2024 (UTC)
- Just want to let you know that there is a white pixel bar at the bottom of this image. ValenciaThunderbolt (talk) 18:13, 3 October 2024 (UTC)
