2018 Gubernatorial Election in Connecticut.svg
[edit]Nice work on preparing the municipal maps for the Connecticut races, especially with the fusion parties there making it much tougher to compile the data! On another website on which I am entering municipal results for the 2018 Connecticut gubernatorial election, I was cross checking what I entered against your map at File:2018 Gubernatorial Election in Connecticut.svg. On one town I noticed, Willington, it appears to be incorrect on your map.
Stafanowski received 56 votes on the Independent line and 1144 votes on the Republican line (total 1200). Lamont rceeived 38 on the Working Families line and 1152 on the Democratic line (1190). Source via CT SOS Sorry if it's a picky edit, but that town should be colored light red for the <50% Republican win, not light blue. —Mr. Matté - En. 'pedia talk 23:04, 28 July 2020 (UTC)
Thanks for this! I finally had the chance to notice this and correct it. I don't have access to my spreadsheet which I used to tabulate this, but when I do get to it, I will check to make sure all the other towns were done correctly! CosmicKanan (talk) 19:23, 3 August 2020 (UTC)
border color
[edit]Would you consider using white instead of black borders for your maps? It makes it look cleaner. Kingofthedead (talk) 22:21, 26 September 2020 (UTC)
@Kingofthedead: The border colour chosen was deliberate, as it re-uses the style Emw had pioneered back in 2010 for the election for the Massachusetts Senate. Several states in New England have lacking municipal maps for electoral returns, and the states that do have them often have different competing styles year-over-year (municipal v. county). It is my goal to reörganise these competing styles with the one, unified style that Massachusetts currently uses, along with slowly but surely combing through state electoral data to fill in as many gaps as possible. Map styles consensus
[edit]Hello, I have noticed you have gone and reverted all the maps to the old style please be aware this is not a style we use, these are the standard colors https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:WikiProject_Elections_and_Referendums/USA_legend_colors We are in the process of coverting the maps into the standard style. Please also note that we do not put the map legend within the file itself, these already in the article under map caption The new maps also utilizes the map switcher feature available in election boxes Please reach a consensus first about the style as it can get very confusing keeping up with these maps and keeping them all the same style. We must strive for consistency Thank you Putitonamap98 (talk) 09:20, 15 February 2022 (UTC)
@MsCosmicAsh: In about another week I may have to finally talk to an admin about this, we all need to agree on a standard style because I'm trying to update the Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Connecticut maps. Please let me know Putitonamap98 (talk) 02:50, 19 February 2022 (UTC)

Categories
[edit]Hi, for some countries there are varying schemes on how election-related files may be categorized. Still, efforts have been made to create a harmonized overarching system for all countries in the world: "<year> elections in <country>" (e.g. Category:1901 elections in Australia, Category:1999 elections in Turkey) and "Election <maps/apportionment diagrams> of <country/subdivision>" (e.g. Category:Election maps of Lancashire). With regards to your Australia-uploads I have noticed you applied the latter system to your files, but please also think of the first, meaning the year. Thanks a lot, and best regards --Enyavar (talk) 23:55, 22 May 2024 (UTC)
- I'll endeavour to ensure future uploads adhere to this system! MsCosmicAsh (talk) 18:40, 23 May 2024 (UTC)
Small error on 2022 Australian federal election in South Australia map
[edit]The division of Mayo is a shade darker than it should be as per the election results on File:2022 Australian federal election in South Australia.svg
I'd fix it myself but having to request permission to edit other people's files now is a bit annoying, although understandable. The2016 (talk) 17:24, 31 July 2024 (UTC)
- Thanks for catching that! I've fixed it. MsCosmicAsh (talk) 17:56, 31 July 2024 (UTC)
Some things you should fix:
1. Nightcliff's label should be red not orange, and the current TCP there is 54.1% Labor (so a lower shade of red should be used).
2. Fannie Bay is still in doubt, but the Greens are ahead with 51.1% TCP, so the brightest shade of green should be used.
3. Please check if any other seats need updating since a few days of counting have occurred since this map was updated. Pay close attention to the updates, especially in Fannie Bay since that could still theoretically go to the CLP and not the Greens.
Thanks! Schestos (talk) 09:31, 26 August 2024 (UTC)
- Yes, I was planning on updating it all tonight. I did not do any updates during the weekend, but I plan on keeping it updated every night (around 11pm AEST) because counting will have finished for the day. Update is forthcoming. MsCosmicAsh (talk) 13:09, 26 August 2024 (UTC)
- Okay, thanks! 153.107.26.53 23:48, 1 September 2024 (UTC)
Request for local government election maps
[edit]Could you please create maps for the 2024 New South Wales local elections, 2024 Victorian local elections and the 2024 Queensland local elections?
Thanks! Schestos (talk) 01:27, 5 September 2024 (UTC)
- The NSW one should have insets for Sydney and Newcastle. Schestos (talk) 01:36, 5 September 2024 (UTC)
